That whole article is a lot of words to simply say "they can franchise him"

They won't do that.

One thing that's right about that article, though - Paraag Marathe is fucking contract AND cap wizard.

Remember when everybody flipped their shit when Kaep signed a 6/126M deal with SF and then it turned out it was only 13M guaranteed and he got a total of 3/39M? That was Marathe.

Same with Jimmy G's monster deal that ended up being both team friendly AND paid JG.

They take care of their guys and avoid cap hell.

I bet Kittle ends up with 14-15M per year but the details will make it easier on the salary cap. That's their MO.

The two biggest issues with signing Cam is to make the call to bench him before he starts showing degradation of his throwing (if that is still the case), and the disruption it would cause to their current QB corps. Hoody has the brass balls and the wherewithall to step up to this challenge. Not many coaches would even try let alone be trusted to make such keen decisions. I would assume the hoodman is intrigued by this new opportunity.

He'll get the best out of Cam and will have no qualms dumping him once his utility shows signs of waning. Stidham et al will be ready to step in and do their jobs.

Hell of a move and I'll assume that if it doesn't work out, it won't be because of poor coaching decisions.

Plus, can you imagine how many roughing the passer penalties he'll get rewarded with in New England? The fucking refs love them (had to throw in a jilted Raiders fan comment, lol)

The value of that shoudl not be underestimated. My guys have spent the first 2 years of the new regime digging themselves out of salary cap hell.

meaning the damn route that Kittlecorn is gonna run, we dunno if its pass or run through him....

im sure dc can track personnel package and come up with some calculation that the offense is going to pass or run but,

He was a huge xfactor and big reason Garrapolo shined so easily early last season.

edit: rumors says he getting 13mil a year, with some clause that its going to be based off some % for the future - due to low $$$ from corona in 2020.

At $13.5m for 2020 if he gets it, he'll be making more than all but 11 WRs (ATC). Sounds about right for what he does.

Now if he tells them to pound sand and he bails and ends up in Seattle, I'll be a happy camper, he'll be a monster, so long as Schottenheimer gets fired. How that dude still has a job is unbelievable. It's proof Wilson can make any OC look good.

I agree with you in General, TE's just aren't valued that way. I love a 2 TE H-Back line. Best Offense there is if you have 2 TE that can run routes.

Everybody overbanks on headline grabbing playmakers though. Fast WR have loud personalities, get press, and sell jerseys, even if their offenses rarely win championships.
