NFL 2020

If they follow the usual pattern of securing a hot young QB with a huge contract set by Seattle, they won't be able to pay other talented players that will want their pay day.

Read the details before making assumptions. This looks to be a cutting edge deal.

Yeah, but I also understand the realities of salary cap football.

And this deal takes into account salary cap fluctuations. It's almost like they sat down together and had a reasonable discussion, not back and forth demands until reaching a mishmash deal.

I understand that, but what happens when the receivers want to get paid? ... defensive players?

Wilson's contract is merely an example of how a contract can effect a team when they started dismantling the Legion of Boom because they couldn't make the cap. They've been good, mostly, but not that same caliber of team no matter how good Wilson is.

It would've been stupid to not sign mahomes to a long term deal, he's the real thing, but the front office will still need to pay the other stars, or find replacements that are just as good. The only team we've seen do that in the last decade plus has been the Patriots, sadly... :laughing

Don't look now, JD, but your silver and black is showing thru a lot.

The end of the LOB was more due to age and injury, but nobody in their right NFL mind would spend the kind of money on a secondary. Also, Seattle has been more hamstrung by their recent inability to draft talent, unlike their streak of LOB members, etc. If what remains of the LOB was still together they'd be getting torched at a great expense.

Yeah, we saw a sample of that with Sherman's defense in the SB....

The SB is not on Sherman. Guy can't be perfect every snap and he is getting football old.

Still, locking someone like Mahomes up contractually is good for KC if it turns out he puts in a 20 year run like Brady. Not many teams have had HoF QB at the helm for two consecutive decades. Those that do seem to own several Lombardi's as a result.

22 of 25 starters are retained in addition to Mahomes contact. Like was stated above, this contract had a lot of people talking WITH reach other to make this work. Everyone associated with this team is trying to build a dynasty. That takes a lot of discussion and teamwork. Time will tell if it works.

Yes, very professional.

I really feel like we need to spend more time going over this.

I don't get it. Is it trying to say that the Cowboys need to change their name too?

I await your dissertation.... :laughing

There is only one team worthy of writing the great litany of evil deeds. These two other fucks are the lesser evil.

Except for maybe Dallas. Maybe.

I don't get it. Is it trying to say that the Cowboys need to change their name too?

Yes. To The RetiredshitfuckswhostoppedplayingsportsbecausefuckDallas.

I feel like there are too many Westies in here to appreciate how important it is to shit on Washington and Dallas at the same time.

We at least used to get some Philly Scum in here that could appreciate this.

Nobody cares about Dallas, kind of like the Giants. Take your NFC east overrated hype and excessive TV time and play in obscurity for a couple decades.

Now let's talk more about wasted QB talent, how 'bout Deshaun Watson? Bill O'Brien's going to kill him, and I think he's a stud.

Last year's NFC East was awesome! Everyone fought like hell to lose, I loved it. I'm hoping to see some good entertainment from the AFC East.

Yeah, but Newton going to the New England Death Star concerns me... if it was a "regular" year I'd be scared.

LOL, don't be mad, just because your team is a broke ass nobody wants to watch. :laughing We can't play in obscurity for a few decades, we win Championships too regularly for that. ;)

I'm dreadfully curious to see if Hoodie can do something with him. I'm kind of rooting for him to do well, despite it being the Pats, I'd like to see the old guy go a few more rounds.
