NFL 2020

But then whose spirit was inhabiting Rivers in the Colts loss to J-ville? :dunno

46 Throws, 360 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, his career has already been over, but he is still showing up and collecting a check.

Must have been Brett Favre.

Since the Raiders are gone, Jacksonville is my new team, at least as long as a fellow Coug is at QB :cool

I mean, didn't they get rid of Jameis Winston because they would have won so many more games if their qb didn't turn the ball over so much? ouch. bad start for Brady.

He played like shit. Period dot.

Refball aside, Jimmy cost them the game. Left too many points on the board. Take away Mostert's 76 yard YAC to the house and JG only threw for 180 yards.

He was bad.

It was miserable. Zero consistency on the offensive side and it was JG10 who failed when it counted. Losing his grip, literally, a few times and missing a go ahead TD throw that was as open as it gets in the NFL. Makes me wonder where his confidence will be when the receiving corps gets back to some semblance of normal. And with Kittle's injury (looked like something popped to me) the list of receivers he's comfortable with just got shorter.

yeah Jimmy G sucked for sure.

Losing Kittle seemed to completely discombobulate the passing game. His blatant pick of the defender to allow McKinnon to score was a good move, since it wasn't called. haha

A few of those roughing the passer calls were head-scratchers. Maybe they're trying to enforce the rule tighter than normal to set a tone for the rest of the season. But then Jimmy G got wacked in the pocket by a defender who looked to have taken two more steps after he threw the ball and no call, so, what the f do I know.

unnecessary roughness after a 15 yard scramble when Murray dove headfirst and the defender jumped OVER HIM and touched him

It's blatantly obvious.

It's blatantly obvious.

That was the head scratcher for me. Even if he'd drilled him the back he was a runner diving for additional yardage at that point. The opposite of a QB slide/giving-up.

The rules have changed such that having a super mobile QB with great field recognition and throwing skill is the new paydirt at the position. Not only are they protected in the pocket they are protected when they scramble.

It's why it gets tougher to care really about it as much as I used to. The league can use the refs to enforce narratives.

it creates a damned if you do-or-don't situation. If you tackle them, you get a flag. If you let them go, they make you look bad and run it to the house. impossible situation. They gotta not call them if the qb hasn't committed to the slide within two steps of a defender or something...not the instant the qb realizes he's going to get hit, drops himself, essentially initiating contact with the defender. I think they went a little too far protecting Murray there.

He dove.

Forward.

AFTER he scrambled for like 15 yards. He had left the pocket, he crossed the line of scrimmage, he was a running back.

I talked to all the Refs at their homes in Flagstaff, Phoenix, AND Tucson and they all said it was fine.

ouch...19 plays and a turnover. jones is a tough kid, but that's gotta hurt

We are the worst team in the NFL right now. This year was supposed to be our year to turn the corner, but it is falling apart.

Character issues on our 1st round pick Cornerback from last year killed that fix on an already mediocre defense, pushing it back into just straight bad, which it had only MAYBE emerged from with the addition of a few new pieces this year.

The constantly newly rebuilt O-Line lost our high (over)paid free agent OT to C19, he was one of the only seasoned vets. The Team is super young, the youngest in the NFL, and they had no preseason under new coaches to come together. They looked like they were as inexperienced as they actually are. I think this offense can have serious fire once they get some games under them, but by the time they do, the season will be half over and just another lost year.

Hopefully the youthful investments in the O-Line and D-line in the draft pay off in coming years, so it isn't a total scrap. Management is going to give the Coach 3 years to turn it around this time, not a panicked rush to success, so hopefully it pays off.

:dunno

I hope Kittle avoided major injury.

The Raiders' top two right tackles went down in the first quarter. Losing Trent Brown is obviously huge. The big man has turned from pro bowler to damaged goods in a hurry. I think their o-line might still be very good, but any more injuries will be a severe setback. Their health will be the #1 reason on how they fare this year. They haven't been able to keep a healthy o-line together since 2016, incidentally being the last time they were a decent team.

Their MLB Kwiakosky (sp?) with a light pec tear. dude was their green dot defender, and when he went out, CMC started going off. yet another big injury. yikes.
