NFL 2020

Yeah they say waaaaaaay too much NSFW shit for that

So? If it offends people turn the volume down. :dunno

I wanna hear it for the laughs. Some of it has to be comedy gold.

Some of it would get people fired. That's why it won't happen.

Just the opposite. I clicked around a lot of games and I saw a ton of really shitty play from guys who looked like they needed to knock the dust off.

The missed tackles, bad passes, blown coverage, dropped balls. Seemed like a significant portion of the NFL just was not ready.

I have never been pro preseason, I usually barely watch it, but opening weekend started to change my mind this year.

I feel like maybe if practice was allowed as normal it would have been better though.

I always felt that NFL didn't get good until the third week or so to begin with (and that was with pre-season of course) so no, I am not FREAKING OUT that my team didn't win their opener."

We live in the Age of Hyperbole and I'm not sure if sports or politics are worse at this point,

this one spoke to me:

Eh. Not much of it is that funny.

Some of it you chuckle because of how absurd some of the shit being said is or how some grown ass men can absolutely flip their shit about a play call or a missed play or something.

Coaches like to flip out and scream and yell too.

They also don't want it quiet because they don't wanna have the other teams hearing their play calls and adjustments and shit.

No effs given so long as the players stay healthy.

Speaking of players staying healthy: Sherm goes on IR for calf sprain.

Walking wounded. Hoping everyone gets healthy for a run at the playoffs instead of last year where everyone got injured as postseason closed in.

To be fair, the Giants have the worst record in the NFL over the last 3 seasons.

Which includes the year the Browns went 0-16.

That's kind of impressive.

TRUST THE PROCESS!!!!

:laughing

so, Peyton and C-Wood are locks, but who else will make the hall?

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...first-year-eligible-candidates-2021-hall-fame

my instincts say go for super bowl champs first, which leaves me with:
coach Flores (hell ya...homer pick)
wes welker (imo no)
heath miller (no)
tory holt (maybe, but no)
reggie wayne (probably yes)
richard seymour (if he played better with Oak, then yes, but since he sucked, then no)
Bryant Young (huh? maybe I guess)
John Lynch (a big yes for me)
LeRoy Butler (not a long career, right?)

so, I'm taking Peyton, CWood, coach Flores, Wayne's world, and John Lynch

:laughing I do, I do, total rebuilds take time. The GM who had been slowly ruining the team for 10 years is in those 3 years, we have a Brand new coach, retired our greatest QB last year, I recognize that shit takes some time.

The ongoing failure for 3 years straight to develop a functional O-line is starting to get frustrating, but I understand these things take time and we have a couple of good draft picks in place as a foundation.

How is Tom Flores NOT in the HoF? :dunno

He has the inescapable and horrifying taint of the worst owner in NFL History on him, that is hard to get out from under.

John Madden didn't get in until what 2006?

he beat the Redskins AND the Eagles in the super bowl...no respect for that?

Mad respect for sure, he really seems to have been a good Coach. Now, I won't lie, my position still is and has always been that the one brief period in history when the Raiders were good, it was because Madden is one of the greatest football minds of all time and he built a winning franchise that Flores just picked up the torch on and carried for the next 7 years.

:dunno

Nevertheless, you will find a lot of Raiders from that era got overlooked. Al Davis is pretty much the worst person in football history, so if you are associated with him when his team was good in spite if how terrible he was, thanks to Madden, they are slow to accept.
