NFL 2020

To be fair, the Giants have the worst record in the NFL over the last 3 seasons.

Which includes the year the Browns went 0-16.

That's kind of impressive.

Yeah, that's what I am saying, we have not had the worst record in the NFL in any of those seasons, but we have been in the bottom 5 for like all 3.

The current Power Rankings guys are being pretty kind to us with their mid 20's numbers, but like I say the Offense does have potential. :laughing

Day-ammm! I did not know that? That's gotta hurt.

This is why the Saquon pick was immensely bad. Not because he isn't a good player. Because a top tier RB is a luxury and they wasted the #2 overall pick on it.

I guess you can squint your eyes and say trying to add Saquon and a couple OL veterans to see if the corpse of Eli could give it one more shot is a valid stance to take, but win-now moves like that generally set up the franchise to be shit for the next handful of years.

On the bright side, we get to see Saquon in a lot more commercials than he deserves to be in!:thumbup

Someone was listening to Jim Rome too.

Jim Everett shoulda punched him harder back in the day.

Hell yes. What a creep. Even as a Rams hater, I wanted him to dismantle that little puke.

A coupla questions: Since we're going into 21, are we posting on last year's thread? I wasn't sure.

Also, now that we get to watch games again, am I the only person who is finding that now the NFL games just seem insufferably long, even WITH the DVR clicker option?

Curious about what others think. I was super happy that i COULD just watch a damn game but then it kind of seemed too time-consuming. I had to watch the Niners on replay but the evening wore on and I kept thinking that I might turn it off and live with just finding out the result on the news and not be the worse for it. I am on the verge of defecting which seems weird given how much the Niners delivered last year.

:laughing you do you, but...what the hell else you have to do?? air quality is shit. being around people is shit (besides our own fams). online content is shit.

I do agree that games can get long...did you try nfl redzone?

No way, I was just saying a couple pages back that we dodged a bullet that year. If it wasn't The Savior, it would have been Rosen and we all see how that is playing out.

Eli actually had a 92.4 QBR that year despite the fact that he took 47 sacks. He still had plenty of game left and threw for 4200 yards that season, despite being a professional punching bag and having the Offensive Rookie of the Year as a RB he could have used as a crutch.

It just goes back to the shit I have been saying for years, it starts at the O-Line. Jerry Reese ruined the Championship team that Ernie Accorsi built, and ownership let him slide for so long it will take 5 years of good management and solid draft success to rebuild the team.

We are on year 3 now.

The first two years was spent mainly on getting out from under bad Free Agent deals and clearing cap space. We have some good building blocks, but the Defense is still trash and the O-Line needs consistency to turn into a working unit. RB, QB are set for the next 3 years at least. We have WR set up real nice. TE is great when Engram is healthy, but he is an injury question mark.

If the O-Line can perform, these guys can ball with Mahomes, I promise you. I still think you will see some shit later this season, but they are so young and green with a new coach and new OC, this lack of preseason was brutal for us.

I never had that. ATT took away my NFL channel last year but I pay em so much money still that I won't do more.

But I did wonder if our long separation from sports has had this effect on anybody else.

Nah. I do not watch all the games though, never did. Just Blue, and I catch highlights for everyone else. If the Niners are on I will leave it playing in the background while I do other shit around the house.

that is reasonable. but, if you do want to pick it back up, redzone channel comes with NFL channel (at least on xfinity)

hmm, in regards to losing patience to sit through it? maybe, but I'm probably the wrong person to answer this. I sat through the draft, so...

Did anyone else notice that the NFL season is a lot more exciting without preseason games?

Just the opposite. I clicked around a lot of games and I saw a ton of really shitty play from guys who looked like they needed to knock the dust off.

The missed tackles, bad passes, blown coverage, dropped balls. Seemed like a significant portion of the NFL just was not ready.

I have never been pro preseason, I usually barely watch it, but opening weekend started to change my mind this year.

I feel like maybe if practice was allowed as normal it would have been better though.

yeah. IMO it's lack of practice. Dudes barely play in preseason games anyway.

and, oddly enough, lack of crowds too. It's just a really weird environment playing in front of nobody when it's usually 60,000 people except in Tampa.

I wish they'd shut off the piped in crowd noise. I'd like to hear more of what is said on the field and sidelines.
