I'm beginning to think that Belichick was the genius we all thought he was.... :laughing

Figures the Bucs would be the first home super bowl team.

I am honestly going in the opposite Direction. I mean, I know that Hoodie was a Defense Coach, but I always gave him a a lot of credit for Major Tom.

Now he is about to visit Championship number #10. Just so everyone is clear, Tom Brady will now have been to more NFL Championship games than every team in the NFL except 5, and of those 5 teams, the New England Patriots is the only Team that is not nearly 100 Years old.

Championship Appearances
22 New York Giants
19 Chicago Bears
18 Green Bay Packers
11 New England Patriots and Washington Football Team
10 TOM BRADY WTF?
9 Cleveland Browns and L.A. Rams

:wtf What the hell is he?

You and your pre-Super Bowl era stats.... :laughing

They're called NFL Era Stats. :love

Seems a fitting close out to Tom's career that he be the first QB to host a Superbowl at Home.

I really like the whole New King vs. the Old King thing with them going up against Mahomey.

Should be an interesting game.

Staying with the 'new king/old king' line: all the old kings have been slain so far with ugly performances for them. Ben and Drew just kinda came unraveled. Rogers was the only one who had decent numbers but they should have been better: the D gives you three picks and all you can manage is 6 points?

Still hoping that the football gods continue with the new/old king theme and Brady gets knocked the fuck out. Or just has a horrible day like Ben and Drew.

P.S. If you're going to talk about football "championships" you have to carve off the years between and including 1960-1965. Either that or you have to include the AFL championships as well. There is just no other way to do it. There were two top flight, professional football football leagues so there was no true "champion" during those years. There were two league champions. And just to cut off anyone who tries to question the definition of top flight they didn't play each other to see who was best and when they did it was for four years: NFL won 2 and AFL won 2.

No, Dude, the AFL Championships are in there, so are the AAFC Championships. Those were all part of the Agreements when the AFL and AAFC leagues joined the NFL, they got to keep their Championships for Official Record keeping purposes, that is the only reason the Browns have so many.

Nay, Bruh, those are official NFL Stats. :dunno

Here you can see that the Texans and Jaguars have less appearances than the Pottsville Maroons and Providence Steam Rollers.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_National_Football_League_championship

When the AAFL went bust and the Browns, Niners, and Colts joined the league, I think the Browns had lost like 6 games in the 4-5 years that league existed, but it is an official stat, so they get credit for it.

A fair amount of people want to hate on Brady but dammit, that he pulled this off without Gargamel and the Evil Empire is just so noteworthy. And if you watched the early Bucs games, you saw that team transform itself, which is pretty amazing.

Feel bad for Rogers but whaddyagonnado.

Brady played a terrible game with three interceptions and a couple of other floaters.

Hopefully he doesn't do that against KC or it will be a very boring game.

A fair amount of people want to hate on Brady and it is well deserved, if not for Todd Bowles and that defense he'd have looked every bit as bad as Ben and Drew did. And if you watched the early Bucs games, you saw that team transform itself, which is pretty amazing.

FTFY

I don't often pray but I will sacrifice my left pinky to the football gods in hopes that Brady gets knocked the fuck out.

@BA It's not a question of hating on Brady. I'm so sick of seeing him in the game. Hang up your cleats old man. It's a young man's game and if the rules hadn't been changed to allow you to play this long you'd have been done a decade ago.

So hoping he leaves us with an image like this at the end of the game:

I used to think it was Brady I hated with my dislike for New England but it turns out to be the homeless guy who is head coach I disliked the most.

The Brady story way surpasses the Montana story.

Maybe that's where the Bay Area hate comes from! :laughing

Where are all those 49er jackets that were worn everywhere back in the day? :rofl

That surely is part of it.

I still have these two jackets and they are worn on the regular during the season and postseason when my team is still in the hunt:

Whaddyagonnado? Ay, fuggedaboudit.

I have to say this season honestly changed my take on dude. I am not impressed, but not annoyed by him. The talk about how he has not allowed to Coach in NE, but Arians is letting him run the Offense in Tampa also made a difference for me.

I haven't changed my opinion on him. Dude is the GOAT, pure and simple.

More interesting question- Who's going to be the 49ers QB? Watson, Rodgers, Stafford?
