NFL 2020

does anyone of you have any idea who any of the WR were in those 2 Superbowl wins he got?

Yes, but only because I was balls deep in fantasy football in those days, well not so much with Plax because he is easy to remember, but who cares about Manningham and Nicks (Well I remember Nicks at UNC because I was a degenerate and playing college fantasy too)? And while I remember very few things in life, I know where I was (at a sportsbook in Vegas during Shot Show 2008) when David Tyree broke the the bookmakers' hearts.

also Victor Cruz was fucking amazing for like 3 seasons or whatever lol

OK but I mean actual football.

Nobody cares about fantasy teams.

I dislike Tom Brady very much but I do largely respect him. He takes care of himself, he is respectful, and the best QB of my lifetime. As someone who truly loves the game of fb, I cannot deny that. I am not a fan of Rodgers and personally happy that TB12 beat him. I also give major kuddos for switching teams, new conference, and succeeding this well.

Typically, I will cheer for the AFC team, if even if PIT is not in the SB. Loyal to the AFC I guess. This year I will be cheering for Tampa Bay for a few reasons.
1) I love an underdog.
2). I lived in the Tampa area for about 8 years and the majority of my FL friends are die hard Bucs fans. I mean die hard, never wavering, always supportive fans.
3). The Bucs organization treat the military very well with a large contingency of Coasties and Airman in the TB area.

I think it will be a great game, old school qb vs new school run and gun qb. Overall, Im pretty excited about this SB.

Our reasonings are very similar. I would've been more happy had the Bills been there instead, but the Chiefs are the "best," and I hope it's a great game.

All my in-laws are in Buffalo or Rochester. I would have been ecstatic for them.

Don't get me started on a Plax rampage. He is the ONLY reason we did not repeat in '08.

Yeah, he was hella good for a few years. Mannigham, Nicks, Cruz, Boss, Tyree, there were so many guys that came through, were elevated by Manning for a few years, and then just kind of faded away. Most got a contract with another team and did nothing after.

It was either that, or total high performing head cases like Odell Beckham, Jeremy Shockey, Plaxico Burress, who were good performers, but their ego simply could not survive playing in New York.

Just part of my ever present resentment of Jerry Reese. There is a reason that guy was fired 3 years ago and hasn't worked in football since.

I miss the days of guys like Amani Toomer, not ever a dude that put up eye catching numbers, not a pro bowl guy, but he was on the roster for like 12 years.

Just a dude you could always count on to make a couple of catches, show up, play team ball, know the offense, be reliable and consistent. I would rather have 2 guys like that on my team than some hysterical, psychotic race horse that makes big plays any day.

An argument could be made that having the racehorse allows a steady-as-it-goes player to do their thing. Without the racehorse nothing gets done because saig isn’t able to get open without the coverage rolling to the racehorse constantly. :dunno

I kinda figured that was for me.
I am willing to bet that none of the teammates Brady won his first SB with have been in the league in a decade. Some of that is his fitness. Granted. Most of that is the change in rules.
It just doesn't sit well with me. All other positions except maybe receiver have to play actual football now. QB? Nah, they're untouchable. Perfect example is the one you cited: Brees getting wrecked by Street. Perfect hit and tackle. Nothing untoward. No suplex. Yet a flag thrown for roughing. Why? Here's the video:

All I can think is that Brees squealed when he hit the turf. He looks totally mussed when he gets up, and I do feel kinda bad for the injuries. But that is football. Why is the QB exempt from actually playing the game?
It's simple. Too many people made quarterbacks their target for season ending hits. Teams too. It got ridiculous so the league cracked down.

Yeah. I wouldn’t even mind something along the lines of 55-10. A full on route.

So, how would you feel if like, Chris Jones went first first into Brady like up to the shoulder and then was wearing him around the field like a sock puppet snapping his mouth open and closed with his hand from inside and shouting, "I'm the GOAT, I'm the GOAT?"

I agree, that dude is often the, "missing piece," to get a ring. Certainly Plax was that for us in '07. The shit that gets on my nerves in this new Social Media enhanced 24/7 NFL is so many teams get that circus shit done without first building fundamentals. You need raw reliable brutality on both sides of the line (where real football happens) and at least one super reliable possession WR or TE before drafting the race horse WR, big splash QB, or "the next Red Grange" RB.

On a clean hit? Football is football. I wouldn’t celebrate it and I’d cringe at the pain in sympathy. In my darker recesses I would feel vindicated at him being knocked out of the game. I wouldn’t ever wish for a dirty hit tho: after the whistle when aggression is supposed to be on pause, or taking his head off, or anything else outside the rules. Contrary to the hate I do appreciate what he’s accomplished and even if he has been the beneficiary of dramatic rules changes I still don’t condone dirty play.

I know the Brady hate is strong in here but did you see the article that showed how Brady has been to more SuperBowls than 3/4 of the league? I mean he has been in 20% of all SuperBowls that is a crazy stat.

So you draw a line at intentional sock puppeting? Respect, respect.

What is the penalty for intentional sock puppeting? 15 yards and automatic first down if committed by defense?

Nah, I posted about that a couple pages back. I think is more than 3/4. I expanded it to the entire historical record of NFL Championships since the beginning and he has been to more than all but 5 other teams. That shit is crazytown.
