NFL 2021

Oh Eldritch you just made the case for the Pats to have the winningest culture in football.........:rofl

Bro, aside from last year, they didn't have a losing season for 20 years. There is no argument. :dunno

I got my fingers crossed for Kwity Paye, hopefully that trade down works for us.

Paye could be a freak. Kinda has an Aldon Smith vibe before all the weird shit he did

I am fucking furious at this. For starters, the pick of Toney shows without question there was only one plan. The Giants were going to take Devonta Smith, but the Eagles heard about it.

Let me break it down:

(Set) Cowgirls Office: *ring ring* Thank you for calling the Dallas Cowboys, how may I help you? *cheesy car salesman scumbag smile*

Phone: "Yo Jerry, this is Green."

Jerry Jones: "You rotten motherfuckers, we ain't speaking, my horse still ain't woke up from that coma when you knocked him out you pricks! We are not on speaking terms you bastards unless you happen to be in the market for a fine refurbished ultra white Cadillac with classic longhorn hood enhancement, we do in house financing, OR FUCK OFF!"

Phone: "Nah, Jerry, I got a plan to fuck Blue."

Jerry Jones: *Boots on desk* "I'm listening..."

:mad

low key Fields landed in a good spot in Chicago.

Hella good defense, Robinson to throw to, couple OK RBs and the corpse of Jimmy Graham.

Gnats get an extra 1st next year to use if they wanna trade up after they decide generic white QB #852 isn't the answer.

Yeah, I am still hella annoyed that we didn't get a pass rush beast, but the trade down was a clear indicator that we are still in full rebuilding this year.

If DJ doesn't cut it in year 3, We can draft the next attempt and let him play out is last rookie year while the new kid learns the ropes for a season. Chicago was #20 before they switched to a Rookie QB, so we potentially have (2) top 10 picks next year.

Yeah, I was kinda skeptical considering I could only find a single story. Schefter said it’s a no go.

This is what I mean when I talk about culture in SF now.

I'm told Jimmy Garoppolo asked for Trey Lance's number immediately after the pick to welcome him to the team.

If that doesn't say enough about the character of the people on this team, I don't know what does.

GB probably wouldn't make a deal til after June 1: https://www.google.com/amp/s/profoo...rade-makes-much-better-sense-for-packers/amp/

Anything to the 9ers willing to trade the house, and Jimmy G, for Rodgers?

https://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/2021-04-Did-NFL-reporters-not-know-about-Rodgers-16140001.php

GB nixed it because they didn't want him going to NFC team.

I've been mulling the whole Rogers saga today and the thing that keeps popping up is a question about what's going to happen to their "culture" when he leaves. I've never seen Love play but his stats aren't impressive especially the pic/td ratio and he came out of a lackluster college conference after a lackluster Jr. year. Anyone else got some input on why the Packers think this is the replacement for someone who is going to be a first ballot HOF?

Enough digression tho...the thought that keeps rolling around in my noggin is this: are the Pack on their way to another 25 year drought like the experienced from the late 60s to the mid 90s?

Meh, Rogers is just carrying Favre's Legacy, but I think it is a good question.

The identity in Titletown is one of a team that always wins, for like 30 years they almost always are first in their Division, but to be real, that whole 30 year legacy is built on the back of Great QB play. They haven't much learned how to win without having a HoF level QB, which we all know is not necessary to win a Superbowl.

I guess the question becomes how do they adapt to survive if lightning doesn't strike a 3rd time? The Niners have had a really hard time in a much shorter but very similar legacy period of Back to Back HoF QB's in the 80's and 90's.

You reckon it comes down to having the right coaching staff who can find a way to win with the talent they have, right?.. Like, can they pivot and become a Power Run/Defense team with the wealth of picks they get if A-Rog really is traded?

It will be interesting to watch.

A HOF QB isn’t necessary to win a super bowl? I guess Blind squirrels do find a nut once in a while. Like everything else there are outliers but since 1990 there has been 2 (?) SB winning QBs that are not HOF worthy...Dilfer and Flacko. Anyone else?

Edit - I forgot about Hostetler, Rypen and Foles. So 25 out of 30 super bows since 1990 were won by QBs that are either in the HOF or on their way. How many of those 4 that are not won multiple...0.

Bet you’d like to see Rodgers in orange and blue?

Awe hell yea I would. I bet you would like to see him finish in SF. That would freakin scary for the rest of the NFC. I would watch 9er games.

Oops forgot about Johnson. D. Williams was pre 90.

Regardless, non HOF QBs occasionally win the SB but it’s kinda silly to say you don’t need one, especially if you want any continued success.
