NFL 2021

I didn’t even bother following link but my newsfeed had a headline today that Johnny Manziel has put football behind him.. Gasp. I am illuminated and heartbroken. Sunday Snarkasm.

I wish he hadn’t imploded. I think he would have been good for the NFL.

Given recent draft busts I'm pretty sure your team doesn't, so I wouldn't be surprised if you don't. :dunno

:teeth

No, no, that has nothing to do with it. You see, as the only team with fans who are decent people in the NFC East, we are cursed.

We have a curse that no Offensive Lineman no matter how well vetted, will work out. The Black Magic of this curse is powered by Cow Horns on Old Cadillacs, Punching Horses in the face, and super powered legacies of racism.

So, as you can see all 3 of them are working against us with Dark Magic.

Love the excuses... :thumbup :laughing

I don't know what else it could be. We have spent like (6) 1st & 2nd round pics on the O-line in the last ten years, some have been unexpected based on a "scouting hunch" some have been, "Safe Pics," "NFL ready," guys, this is in addition to a bunch of high paid free agents, really it seems like none of them work out.

This is across multiple coaches, multiple GM's, the rebuilding of the Giants O-Line is just becoming a running joke that I can't understand. Ernie Accorsi built the best O-line in the NFL and it set a gold standard that won Superbowls. We have never been able to fix it, no matter what we do since all those guys have aged out.

Maybe it's hubris. :twofinger

Maybe Sutherland and Cressey's Differential Association Theory actually applies here...

Criminal behaviour has been learned.

Criminal behaviour is learned in interaction with other persons in a communication process.

The learning processes take place primarily in small and intimate groups (and thus less through (mass) media, for example).

The learning of criminal behaviour includes the learning of techniques to commit a crime as well as specific motives, rationalisations and attitudes that favour criminal behaviour.

The specific direction of motives and drives is learned by defining laws positively or negatively.

A person becomes delinquent as a result of the predominance of attitudes that favour the violation over those that take a negative view of the violation.

Differential contacts vary according to frequency, duration, priority and intensity.
The process of learning criminal behaviour includes all the mechanisms involved in any other learning process.

Although criminal behaviour is an expression of general needs and values, it is not explained by them. Non-criminal behaviour can also infer from exactly the same values and needs.

:laughing

Exciting day today (for me anyway). The buildup, intrigue and betting opportunities are so fun...

And in my dreamland- here's hoping the something crazy happens and the 49ers somehow end up with Watson, Russ Wilson or Rodgers at QB, and turn the collective draft/sports media on its head.

Draft Fields at 3

Trade Jimmy back to the Pats for picks.

Trade those picks to ATL for Julio Jones

Win a ring

Fields? I hope you’re joking. He’s the guy I like the least and in all honesty I don’t like any of them better than Grap.

I'll just be relieved when the deed is done. The sports talk hype is just over the top.

I heard ol Mac Jones run over so many times like hot asphalt on a hurry job. I have zero idea whether the guy flourishes or fails but I know that in the bigger picture, you have the team that ended up with Beathard and Mullins so their expertise in picking QBs is....uh.....questionable, giving me an overall feeling that whoever they choose will be the wrong guy.... (and yes, I thought Mullins was good for a few minutes, no need to hector me with it; but Beat-so-hard never could do anything but get pounded).

I just think that whoever it is that is better than the goomba will be playing for someone else. It's just so weird because the team is so filled with talent in other positions that a championship run is entirely plausible.

Well I'd really rather have Wilson but I think he's going 2nd to NYJ.

Lance could be OK but he will 100% need to sit for a year and learn.

I could be totally wrong but I just don't think it's Jones. You don't give up three #1 picks to get a clone of the guy you already have.

I just don't see how the 49ers get over the hump with a rookie, unless it's a win in 2-3 years mindset, a la Mahomes.

Do you think they will want to wait that long? Busa is on a rookie deal now and in what 2 years he is gonna get paid by someone so win now should be the order of the day. Unless they are banking on the salary cap going up enough to pay him to stay around.
