NFL 2021

relieving win. Just shows that the team is still 100% dependent on Carr being near-perfect.

The Raiders are like the Giants' best friends, beating Philly and Dallas and losing to NJ-a haha.

His numbers would have looked even better if they would have gotten the TD call correct.

Jimmy "High Throw" Garoppolo got another win.

Had he not overthrown several perfectly executed plays, it would have been an even more convincing victory by 7 or more points. He had wide open receivers and threw right over them in first half. I dunno about him. When he's good, he has a quick release and really gets it done. But I think his accuracy is something like 50/50 and the robust running game makes them successful by reducing dependence on the pass. Its his strongest flaw and its really a big one even while he becomes more and more clutch in every other way. I still can't figure out if its correctible nerves or he just never will be that QB that throws accurate passes most of the time. I truly believe Shanahan is dealing with what he has, not what "could be." Otherwise, he did great and continues to show leadership. And yes, its ironic in this context since Cousins had a game-losing overthrow at the worst time.

The Niners are playing like everyone expected at the beginning of the season. What a relief at least for now. Sure hope Deebo isn't out long. Radio guy dangled the possibility of bringing in Lance as running threat or EVEN as a receiver/passing option threat on screens next week. That would be novel!

Well, as a matter of accumulated wins, the NFC East is better than the NFC North and the AFC South, so I got that going for me.

:laughing

Another solid performance by cinci. The steelers got savaged by Mixon. Ben looked old and feeble.

They got swagger and the best balanced attack in the league. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them shock the bills or the chiefs in the playoffs.

Ben was trying to make a point by outlasting old man Rivers, but it sure ain't a victory lap. I understand he needs to make about 600 more yards this season to pass him in all time yards thrown.

Ben has the better resume, over Rivers. All power to him if he is only there to chase stats. Been around long enough to write his own job description.

I'm ready for Shanahan to go. Great OC. Not ready to be a head coach. Needs to drop the micro-managing. If he wants to script and choreograph the offense, he can go write stories for Hallmark. His "creativity" has jumped the shark and become predictable.

I believe Jimmy to be coach-able and capable. I don't know enough to identify where I am wrong. I will take the wins, but not expecting any long run against more mature/experienced coaches.

The players and talent on the field are really high. This is one of the scariest teams we have had in a while. Need the coach to get out of the way. IMO.

I meant your weird Kyle diatribe.

Ah. Stylistically, as a fan, I prefer a football team to line up and beat their opposition. If you don't have the talent, then you augment your play calling with creativity. I think we have the talent. I hate seeing the lateral passes. All the craziness behind the line, and complicated timing plays that the O-line can't maintain protection on. Personal preference.

Oh, and every week I get reminded that we could have kept 2 first round picks and had Mac Jones. Every week...

*Edit - To be fair, I like the persistence to the run. I don't think Kyle is a complete loser. I think the balanced approach has earned some wins.

They ran 1 trick play that would have been an easy Kittle TD.

They also ran for 200 yards and 3 TDs.

:dunno

You may have missed my edit. I did address that.

The Vikings are one of the worst run defenses. Turn overs played a huge part in the scoring. And I like the attitude toward running. If you get excited by individual games, then it was a good game.

I wanted Fields. I don't think Lance will be as good as Shanahan and Lynch think.

Mac Jones is good because of Belichik. Same reason everyone thought they wanted Jimmy back.

I expect them to get pounded in Seattle next week. No Deebo, no Warner, no Greenlaw

Depending on how things go tonight, Seattle might be worse than the Giants.

These are not the mighty seachickens of 6-7 years ago.

Yeah, there is a ton of buzz right now that Russel Wilson might be up for trade with NYG being one of the real interest teams (2 1st Rounders next year in the top 10 probably).

Not sure how real that is, but that would indicate a full ground up rebuild going on in Seattle.

The Jets currently have Seattle's 1st rounder next year, which as it stands is the 4th pick.

The Jets own pick is currently #5.

lol.

also, last offseason Russ told Seattle if he is traded he wants to go to the Cowboys, Bears, Saints, or Raiders.

Saints seem most likely of those 4.
