NFL 2021

The Jets currently have Seattle's 1st rounder next year, which as it stands is the 4th pick.

The Jets own pick is currently #5.

lol.

Yeah, the last article said the Jets also have the draft capital to do the deal, they are the only ones with juicier picks than Blue, but they kind of have already invested big in their future QB with Zach Wilson.

I don't know if the Aint's have enough draft Capital, do they? You reckon the Giants can offer 2 top 10 picks this year AND a slightly used Daniel Jones.

Wilson didn't pick either NY Team on his list, but you have to figure his wife will go ballistic if he gets an offer to be based in NY or L.A. and tries to fight it, right?

I think Wilson isn't going anywhere and it is all a bunch of BS, but the conversation seems to be one throwing out a sentiment that Seattle is kind of falling apart and hitting the skids soon.

Ben has the better resume, over Rivers. All power to him if he is only there to chase stats. Been around long enough to write his own job description.

While this maybe true, he is dragging us fans through the mud to get there. Being a Steelers fan all my life, I have been through bad QB (Brister, Stewart, etc) but I truly believe it is time for Ben to hang it up. He cannot move out of a pocket to extend plays for which he is so well known. His arm is okay, but it's not great.

Kuddos to him for coming back and showing that he recovered well. However, being last in the AFC North is not something I remember nor do I want to get used to it. Time to find a new QB, Mason is not going to cut it.

Definitely sucks for Steelers fans. There has been plenty of heart break and screwed up situations in the past few years. Who doesn't like a good ole rebuild? If they look and model the team after the rest of the division, you will be in for some entertaining teams once they start. I have always enjoyed that battle, from afar.

Yeah, some people liked to say that Rivers was the better QB, but he never got a team to support him (Not True, PFF did an analysis like 2 years ago and of the mighty class of '04, Eli actually got the least Offensive Talent support), so it makes sense that Ben would want to hang on to beat Rivers numbers in addition to having the 2 rings to kind of concrete his claim to the best of '04.

He is done for sure after this season though. It is easy to see dude is pulling a Peyton, totally played out.

Seattle made wft look like a stud team last night. Russel cannot cook right now. Maybe the injury earlier, but something is wrong with him. The oline still blows and the run defense is horrid.

I have a feeling the 9ers will be fine next week.

With Deebo out and Kittle still apparently not 100% they might not pass once.

I seriously doubt they will need to pass at all.

I agree somewhat with the earlier poster re: shanny as a head coach vs off cord. Where I differ is the preference. Why not love this offense? It is one to envy. Shanny is scheming a great attack with what he has.

their rushing attack IMO is the best in the league rn by far. Vintage 2019 playoffs caliber. When u can run with such effectiveness in the 1st and 2nd quarter, then show the discipline to keep running…it’s just a beautiful thing. The defense is tired and demoralized by q3. Kudos for finding a way to get back into it. That style of attack is extremely difficult to pull off. I just really respect the balls to play call like he is and the scheme is executed to perfection.

Seattle will need to load in 8-9 in the box and dare grawp to throw. Anything less will be a rout. May be anyway

Like I said, I like the commitment to the run. He uses a lot of motion to try and disguise a basic run. It works, then I see a lateral pass net in lost yardage. For all of the effort he puts into every play, I see too many blown plays. I want him to tune it back a little. Look downfield a bit more. And let maulers maul. I understand he is trying to get the ball in the hands of the players and when there is open space, find big gains. It's all good and well during the regular season. But, I want sustained competitiveness in the division and am tired of high expectations and let downs. I am a fan. Feel free to copy paste for any of your teams :laughing .

An example: Turnover results in a couple plays, first and goal. I walk out for 20 seconds, and they are back on the 15 yard line. Ends in a field goal. I survived the Singletary era. It still gives me nightmares.

I mean 4 weeks ago, Titans thought the Niners rushing attack was awful cute for FOOLISH MORTALS.

Even with King Henry being injured now, the Niners are at 4.4 YPC. The Eagles, Browns, Jags, and Colts are all over 5 YPC AND they all except the Jags have more rushing attempts than the Niners (higher attempts usually means lower YPC).

The Niners seem to have a top 10 rush attack for sure, probably even Top 5, but they just aren't the best at it right now, not by the numbers.

alright, that's fine. Agreed they aren't going to be super bowl champs with this team and/or game plan. I believe our difference lies in the estimation of garopollo's talent. And to be fair, afa passing the 9ers have hung their hat historically (damn) on the short-pass, run-after-catch game plan.

No way, if the Niners did that, why would they call it a WEST COAST Offense?

Oh wait...

ahaa, ahaa.

I am not one to pound my chest over success that was over 2 decades ago. I like the west coast, but would be perfectly fine with morphing it into the Left Coast that incorporates the area behind the safeties that are lined up 8 yards back... A little respect downfield is what makes the spread em out offense work. And use the high draft picks to keep the defense bolstered. Wasting 3 first round picks for a quarterback is going to affect things down the road.

...they 'wasted' 3 first round picks on the guy with the cannon arm that can throw downfield.

:dunno

You don't have enough info to back that claim up! :twofinger

It is really costly way to find something out. I won't be mad watching the niners roll. But, I have seen this show over and over, and there's no guarantee that it will result in sustained dominance. Makes me nervous, and when I get to sipping on the Sunday beverages, a nervous fan is a mad fan!

I mean, I agree that wasting 1st Rounders on a QB for an incomplete team is always a waste.

GM's these days keep sticking 1st Round talent on Teams that are not ready because they need to make a splash and a statement that gets good press. The reality is, Football is still a sport that is always won at the line.

If your line on both sides of the ball isn't already in the top 10, making some huge investment in a Franchise QB is a waste.

Once you have a powerhouse on both sides of the line, get your first round QB and you can pick up extra receiving and backfield talent in 2nd and 3rd rounds and free agency to build a playoff worthy super competitive team.
