NFL 2021

I mean, I agree that wasting 1st Rounders on a QB for an incomplete team is always a waste.

GM's these days keep sticking 1st Round talent on Teams that are not ready because they need to make a splash and a statement that gets good press. The reality is, Football is still a sport that is always won at the line.

If your line on both sides of the ball isn't already in the top 10, making some huge investment in a Franchise QB is a waste.

Once you have a powerhouse on both sides of the line, get your first round QB and you can pick up extra receiving and backfield talent in 2nd and 3rd rounds and free agency to build a playoff worthy super competitive team.

You can ask Alex Smith about playing behind a horrible line as the 1st pick and see what happens. I feel bad for all the 1st round QBs that go to teams with horrible lines you can just feel the PTSD coming from a mile away as they get the yips after the first season or two.

Oh I am sure there are a lot of them but I am a Niners fan and Alex Smith spent more time on his back than most hookers during those first few years.

I don't remember Smith getting pummeled quite like Carr...

Nobody else is close. He holds the record for most sacked in a single Season (76) in 2002 his rookie year, and then #3 most ever sacked in a single season in 2005 (68). The only guy that is even close to that is Randall Cunnigham, but he was a running QB, AND had to play against Lawrence Taylor twice a year, so that kind of elevates the sack totals.

David Carr represents the prototype for Top Drafted QB talent who was destroyed by a bad O-Line.

Yeah, but Alex Smith did not get ruined. Those first 4 years were ROUGH, but I'm still mad he lost his job to that hackjob RB disguised as a QB, just because he got hurt for a couple of weeks. His QBR was 104 the year he lost his job. After that he played really well for the next 5-6 years or whatever it was in KC, I think he had a QBR over 90 like the whole time.

this is why i can't quit u

edit: qbs can figure it out over time. they can find some things that work with a shitty o-line. throw it away. move up in the pocket. scramble, etc. quick reads. It'll get them only so far, but, a rookie qb typically is coming from a team with a fantastic college o-line. they never survive the onslaught of grown ass M.E.N. coming to end their career. the 9ers actually have a pretty good one. esp. with a healthy williams

eggs-fucking-zactly my point about derek carr. He maybe got 6 games total with the highest paid o line in the league because they were just so beat up all the time. They went young this year to avoid it, and erryones hurt again.

but derek has been granted the rare gem of TIME to mature. and have the talent to back it up.

I just pull for the guy. he's a...good guy and very talented.

Not just OL.

Trent is the highest graded player in the NFL, period.

Dude is a fucking monster this year.

Such a win for the Niners. Those cast off problem children from other teams almost NEVER work out. Dude was a solid gold find for sure. I hope the Redskins WEEP.

• Got fined for that

• The NFL announces an eight game suspension for AB

• AB signs with the Buccaneers on a one-year deal

• Before he signed with the Buccaneers AB was accused of destroying a surveillance camera at a Florida gated community, throwing bike at a security-guard shack, and is not charged because HOA president "feared" retaliation, per police report

• AB is under investigation by the NFL for the bike throwing incident

• Allegedly acquired fake covid-19 card

• confirmed to have acquired a fake covid-19 card and subsequently suspended for three games

“ Farted on a doctor” ?
Tells the youthfulness of the compiler!

why cant nfl be televised like madden the football game - behind the qb view? I hate trying to mix and match the different replays to see how the receiver/defender got that wide open.

the spyder cam isn't a wide enough angle to be useful as a main broadcast cam. Really it's just good for zoomed in replays directly from above

It might not be the best view because of the narrow lens, but the Ultra High Definition Spyder camera sure brings the best images to our TV's.
