Official BARF BEER Crew

Tuesday night (5-11) at harry's hofbrau in redwood city

Hangar 24 tap takeover next week for the beer fest

interested? if so, I'll see you there

I had the Temptation barrel-aged sour from russian river last night...wow I didn't know I could hate a beer so much! smelled putrid and tasted awful. took 2 tastes (just in case) and threw the rest out.

so much for me jumping on the new fad...I'll stick with the IPAs

Sour beers are definitely not for everyone. I like many of them, but really have to be in the mood.

absolutely...I have an extra Temptation that I'll never drink...want it?

Absolutely! I'll take it. I have all sorts of random stuff in my cellar and will throw something interesting at you in return. Just remind me next time there is a BARF social thing that we will both be attending. :thumbup

deal! It's already aged 12 months so I'm sure it'll keep for a while.

but if you happen to stop by harry's hofbrau in redwood city on Tuesday next week after work, I can bring it to you then.

Hmmm, I might be able to swing down there after work. What time were you thinking?

well it starts at 5pm and I don't really want to get on the road during rush hour, so I'll probably hang out until 7.

I'm waiting for Harry Hofbrau in San Leandro to have Saint James Brasserie takeover on Wednesday. St. James is my favorite brewery in Reno. They make a lot of awesome beers and the food they serve at their place is delicious.

It's not a local brewery but everything I've had so far has been really good. Avery brewing company out of colorado. Nice surprises in there selections.

Thanks for the list, I now have a bunch of new riding destinations. I thought there was a small restaurant brewery on highway 1 near Pescadero too, stopped at the gas station next door on the way back from Monterey with the wife and kids. Anyone tried it, and any good?

That's Highway 1 Brewing. Mediocre, for the most part, but they had a couple of interesting brews last time I was there.

No kidding.

My daughter bought me some as it's all the rage.

I'd rather drink gasoline.

They are HORRIBLE!

The rest of you are duly warned. :thumbup

I love me a funky ass sour. Barnyard, sweaty horse blanket, etc.... yes please.

Cantillon ftw.

If you guys have any sours you don't want. You can pass it on to me. I love sours. It's why I'm a member at The Rare Barrel. Nothing but sours they make.

Haha I'd like to be on the free sour list as well.

I just bought a bottle of the Hanger 24 DIPA. Probably pop in a week or so. Depends on how much drinking I do during SF Beer Week. Good Bye Diet.

Eh. Had the hangar 24 dipa tonight. Thought it was just ok. Firestone double jack still my go to.

Also had this (one of the best stouts ive ever had):
