Official BARF BEER Crew

Thanks for the list, I now have a bunch of new riding destinations. I thought there was a small restaurant brewery on highway 1 near Pescadero too, stopped at the gas station next door on the way back from Monterey with the wife and kids. Anyone tried it, and any good?

Its not bad. I wouldnt call it great either but certainly not bad.

I love me a funky ass sour. Barnyard, sweaty horse blanket, etc.... yes please.

Cantillon ftw.

Cantillon Iris can be absolutely amazing. It's incredible how variable it is, though. When it's good, it's AMAZING. When it is off, it is almost undrinkable.

I don't think I'll ever be able to try a Pliny the Younger. I don't do well in lines. ADD and that. :laughing

Beer buffs get hopped up, once again, for Pliny the Younger

It's interesting, it's good, it's powerful and it's not worth waiting in line for.

Still amazing to me how the hype is still there.

RR was originally at the Korbel Winery and you could fire a connon off in there and not hit anyone as there were so few people there.

The move to Downtown Santa Rosa was a good one and I visited well before the hype near the beginning and thought, "not a bad place, too freaking loud and some of the beers aren't bad."

Still my thought today...even though I can walk there from my house.

I don't understand the hype, either. Their marketing folks should be commended for their ability to create such a high demand for a beer that isn't really anything special.

GAJ and i_am_the_koi need to get an "unofficial" BARF beer weekend on schedule. I'm guessing we don't mention BARF at Lagunitas? You guys seem know the pulse up there. Could be a fun thing. :teeth

Yes, yes, yes!

Well like I said earlier on, the Bistro in Hayward is having their Younger party this thurs starting at 11:30. Last year they did 8 kegs in 8 hours. I basically moseyed in and had a few. There were a couple rushes but for $8.50 a pop for a 10 oz pour most people only had one or two. I'll probably head there arround noon if anyones interested.

I'll let Koi organize an informal beer crawl as he's a working stiff and has more scheduling issues than I do retired.

:laughing

I'll hit you up soon and we'll go have a beer or two and discuss the options of beer crawl.

I have no problem coming to Petaluma.

Maybe meet at Lagunitas; haven't been there in quite a while.

When you figure out time/date, post it here and maybe others will come and we will have accomplished two things with one stroke! :laughing

I know the guys at 101 North brewing across the street. Haven't been to the third brewery over there but I'm sensing a pubcrawl is already in the works.

Yeah Iris is kinda of a strange hybrid beer to begin with. I've only had it a couple times (both in Belgium) but I really liked it. However my cellar fridge is full of their geueze with a little kriek thrown in.

^Nice. You get to try the brandy barrel age GRIZZ?

I will be at CQ in San Leandro first and then I am going to head over to The Rare Barrel tomorrow. The Rare Barrel is going to have a collaboration of 5 beers with Cellermaker and Apto BBQ will be serving.

Going to be heading towards Concord tomorrow and having lunch around 2ish at the Creek Monkey Tap House if anyone wants to meet. Will post an official time once I know when I'm leaving 'Luma

Won't be able to make it. Got a help request from my pops. Next time!
