I dont know what youre seeing online but like 30 bucks for an 11 oz

I was seeing about 10-11 euros for 11oz. The issue is the shipping is a flat 50 euro. Maybe if we get enough people we can do one giant order online and split the shipping.

But at that price fuck that lol. I'll enjoy my abt12.

If i could spend about 15 a bottle for a few bottles then id be in.

Do you know where I can pick it up locally? I can't exactly justify spending 3-4x more for the westy 12 when I can get the abt12 which follows almost the exact same recipe for a fraction.

Plus I figure once I age these for a couple years it's going to be perfect.

I wish I had a local source. It's hard enough to get over there. True the westy is 4x more expensive, but it's 10x better. Depends on how crazy you are if you wanna chase it down. I have never had it in the states myself. I'm not even a huge fan of quads in general, but the westy is in another league.

I might be purchasing some online seeing how I can get it for about 15 a bottle for a case.

I don't doubt it's amazing but I'll have to try it and see how good it actually is lol. The ab12 is pretty superb already.

Maybe we can figure out some type of mushroom trade :laughing

My beer funds aren't doing so well because of the holidays so this might have to hold off until late January.

Before I had it, I was very skeptical. I figured it was way over-hyped just because of its rarity. But after trying it, I am a believer. It's an amazing beer. Now I know why it has the reputation.

Decided to take a photo of my current stash. I have a couple of bottles of each of these atm. I need to figure out a better storage methods.

I need to figure out a better storage methods.

For cellaring? I got a cheap upright freezer from home depot and an external temp control. I can keep it at whatever temp I want and have tons of storage. I keep mine at 50F for a cool cellar/drinking temp. I keep it in the garage. Much cheaper than a drink or wine cooler and very efficient too because I think they insulate freezers better.

How are you dealing with the humidity issue? I have a cold fridge I can use that's about 45-50 but I don't want to rot out the corks.

I guess I haven't had any issues. I've only had my current setup for a couple years. However, the only things that are corked that I will cellar for a long time are my cantillons which are corked and capped so corks aren't exposed. My aging stouts (oldest are from 2009) are capped and doing fine. Opened a Stone RIS from 09 recently and it was heavenly. Are you thinking about wine? Or just beers?

I'm thinking about my beers since a good chunk of them aren't completely covered. I'm going to try and convert one of our old fridges but looks like i might need to purchase a beverage fridge.

I recommend an upright freezer. You can find them super cheap on craigslist all day. I bought a new one for ease of delivery since I don't have a truck to be able to pick up a used one. In order to use an external thermostat like this...

... you'll want something that is a single compartment. Then you can choose whatever temperature you want. I also recommend a thermometer to place inside the fridge, because although the thermostat is very stable in temp control, the calibration is not that good.

You could probably use an electric humidifier system from a large humidor. Not sure i would age those beers that long however.

Buddy from Santa Barbara brought this up....very good stuff and 9.0% :teeth
