Official BARF BEER Crew

lol, that's not how it works, can't order any beer willy nilly, only able to order the beer available from my warehouse, like lagunitas. I do recommend talking to Faisal over at Southgate liquors for specialty stuff, he actually exhausts his efforts trying to help out all the customers, even if he only makes a couple of bucks on a keg purchase

I know :thumbup , I was bustin your chops.

I go to artisan wine depot in MV for my belgium beer needs. I'm pretty happy with traders joe selection. It's a great store overall lol.

I know this is kind of late but did anyone go to the DIPA/TIPA festival at the Bistro? Was it worth the price?

Gotta give a shout out to Cork n Bottle in Fremont

http://www.yelp.com/biz/cork-n-bottle-liquors-fremont

I would describe the place as such:

sophisticated selection of all forms of imbibement. I've been both equally satisfied by thier vast choices of brews as I have been with their whiskey and wine. 4 of 4 stars

they have Drakes green label dIPA as their worst choice. They ahave a bunch of Altamont on tap...the tIPA is bomb

-------------

I'll be at the bistro tomorrow for lunch. looking foward to it

:teeth

I used to go there all the time when I lived in Newark/Fremont. The owner is cool and knows his beer(the younger indian guy). Their selection of beer bottles is ok... Sometimes I find better stuff across the street at Bevmo. Kind of cool they have a tap room in the back now.

Its never worth the price lol. I've been going in and sampling some of the leftover doubles. Dr. Gamma was really good. I think the Pliny party is going to be next week, speaking of things not worth the price. I know they haven't got the kegs yet and the bartenders are tired of all the constant phone calls they're getting and have even changed the answering machine greeting to let people know.

He hides all the good stuff in back.

I stand corrected. Today is Pliny the Younger day BUT, you are limited to 2.:thumbdown
Yep, no line also. I walked over there and got 20oz of the Younger which is plenty for me. I had another 10oz pour of the elder also to compare. Younger is actually good but not worth waiting for.

All the illegal stuff. I know.

cork n bottle has a tIPA on tap from altamont that is just amazeballs
Altamont TIPA is actually good also. I'm so disappointed with Drake's TIPA. Disgusting.

The Bistro yesterday. They posted on their facebook. That and twitter is the only way to find out when they will have younger and other beers. My facebook now is nothing but Newsfeed from different breweries and bars.

What's their Twitter link? I don't have fb anymore.

Study says those who like bitter beer are more sadistic and antisocial...hmmmm

Abstract from the paper:

" In two studies, we investigated how bitter taste preferences might be associated with antisocial personality traits. Two US American community samples (total N = 953; mean age = 35.65 years; 48% females) self-reported their taste preferences using two complementary preference measures and answered a number of personality questionnaires assessing Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism, everyday sadism, trait aggression, and the Big Five factors of personality. The results of both studies confirmed the hypothesis that bitter taste preferences are positively associated with malevolent personality traits, with the most robust relation to everyday sadism and psychopathy."

Anyone been to Brats and Brew in Hayward. They have a good selection of beer on tap and they do a tap takeover every Friday. I went there when they had Epidemic on tap. Got a flight of their beers.

Finally decided to open up this 2014 Velvet Merkin. Still taste the same. Seem like no bottle aging took place. Still good though.

I really like firestone, but I find that anything they have barrel aged has the same basic flavor and it makes just wish i had parabola.
