I did use my means to stick it to em by getting solar. Then PG&E said, I see your solar, and I up the ante with fixed monthly fees for all.

Ya see, it's not a fair game when they get to cheat by changing the rules in the middle of the game. And the Ref (CPUC) is snoozing and making a lot of bad calls. The game is rigged.

Meanwhile, ticket prices keep going up to fund the salaries of those millionaires.

Nope. My Generac 22kw consumes about 3 gallons of propane per hour at full load. Last time I had tanks filled it was $3.89 per gallon. That works out to 53 cents per KW/h
As of 4/1, my PG&E peak rate is up to 51 cents per KW/h.
That's one rate increase or social engineering fee away from being cheaper to produce myself on the rare occasions where cloud cover prevents solar/battery from covering my usage.

In fact, if they go through with the income-based fee structure they've been talking about I'm seriously considering telling them to come get their meter.

Texas provides power to 30 million at 30 percent of PGE's cost.

They mostly use Nat Gas just as we do.
 
Businesses in california are mad that they can't dump motor oil in the backyard and so they charge the I-hate-you-for-not-letting-me-be-a-piece-of-shit rate.

I have no beef with PG&E.


....I also happen to live in Santa Clara where we’re not ON PG&E’s grid so... ;)

What irks me is how they “oopsie” set a bunch of fires due to not maintaining their shit and they get rate increases to pay for what the neglected to do in the first place....meanwhile raking in some fat profits. Make it a true public utility, clearly the current (haha!) structure is not serving the public very well.

Highest geothermal resources in the country
Fourth highest hydro
Second highest solar power per capita

Yet...
Second only to Hawaii for highest electricity rates.
Criminally negligent for failing to maintain infrastructure

How can you possibly defend that?
