You've been suspended by majority mod vote for obvious intent of meaning.

Do you wonder why people think you're an asshole, or have you figured it out?

There was a nicer way to say it that would prevented me from having to be the jerk to suspend ya. Think of the mods next time, will ya? :)

I was going to make an additional joke regarding the ten foot pole, but nope. Not going there. Not in this climate.

Smart MAN.

America's problem: Focusing on appearance instead of substance

Nah...being judgemental always of others. That’s a problem imo. Besides, appearance is our initial judgment. Substance comes later.

*I care* and I am in my early 40s....that last bit of fat around the gut is hard to get rid of I will admit. And trust me, women DO care as well!! :laughing

Women Care. Guys Care. It makes a difference. It also takes a lot more commitment over 40 and frankly, consistency. I don’t drink much at all, eat not much and it’s much easier that way. Abs aren’t a big effort once over 40; it’s simply about being fit and keeping a good core routine. We sound like we’re kind of on the same program.

That last bit around the gut? Not worth it IMO....10-12% is fine for me...so long as I have my endurance. I do believe the issue with weight loss and maintence in the US are about portion size and commitment to being fit. It’s a part time job to stay active and sometimes people’s schedules don’t allow that...Time has to be made for it.

Here's a plus size pic!

A little extra weight is no longer about the traditional "winters coming". What if you get sick? You'll need something to live on vs relying on intravenous feeding in the hospital.

You're kidding yourself if you think abs aren't a big effort over 40. It was incredibly easy for me to have them in my 20's. Now? I work out more than I ever did back then, eat better too.....but I don't have a 6-pack anymore. Are the abs visible, of course....but they aren't a 6-pack anymore. Same with pecs and delts....No matter how much you lift, they aren't gonna have the same definition and "pop" that they did in your 20's. Look at pro bodybuilder photos.....there's a big difference across the age groups. The ones in their 40s won't be as V-shaped as the 20-somethings, their pecs will be flatter, etc etc. Oh sure, they're way better than their peers, but the results-to-effort ratio has changed.

If we are being honest, diet is probably 80 to 90% of it, the workouts the rest...genetics will play a big role as well. Then there is testosterone replacement...have not tried it but its interesting stuff. Anyways, goal is not all about a six pack, just being lean and fit and avoiding all the metabolic disorder that affects the vast majority of the American population as you head in to your 40s/50s/60s

I thought trolling Nextdoor and parenthood’s was fun. Man this thread is really delivering hahahahaha

Pelon and Ferdie (I don’t know his BARF name) would disagree

Seriously....Ferdie is freaking RIPPED.

Props to him. I've been watching his progression and his dedication is crazy (he's a Marine of course) ahahaa

And do they look like they would have in their 20's if they had put in the same amount of effort? No, which was my point. Look, dedication is to be admired at any age, but it takes more work to "get compliments" when you're older, and therefore fitness & health becomes more important than trying to achieve a certain look.

I look at all mag cover shots as an artist's interpretation.

Actually, I would argue that perception plays the biggest role in the modeling business, the money follows the perception.

You seem to be implying that Oprah gains weight on purpose to profit from the weight loss, I personally don't think that is the case, I think that she is a naturally heavy woman and when she's not losing weight she's putting it on. It's pretty common for most Billionaires to be too busy making money to put in the time working out.

Also, a portion of the men do care about a woman being heavier, it's a fallacy to say that men don't care, sorry but it's a fact of life just as some women like taller guys, some like darker complexions, some like straight hair on men. It's a way nature works, everybody has their own pattern that attracts them.

Money creates any perception you want others to have. Perception is the result of marketing, marketing is paid for with money.

Oprah is marketing. As for her manipulating her weight, her weight losses aren't accomplished through a normal gain/loss cycle, even for billionaires.

Tell me, at her natural weight, think she could help weight watchers sell a single milkshake? Not a chance.

There is marketing behind everything she does, she is very smart.

All that said, too bad au natural doesn't sell as well as painted, primped and propped. With the billions involved, that isn't about to change.

Ummm, probably. 1 is a marine the other was fat back then and his weight drove him to where he is today.

But you can create whatever excuse you want for not being where you want to be.

PS: shits leaking out your mouth. You should work to fix that.
