Porsche Panamera S ?

That $50K still has room to move upward if it's an immediate delivery. Thinking that running at Mannheim Riverside might bring some big dollars.

There's a 918 (number 501) with 320 miles for about $1.5M. Was tempted to see if that would flip, but I just don't know enough about those cars. Bill called me a pussy...

I'd like to know what it's like to have Berto money some day.:)

Dude, you should have said that in your first post!:twofinger

Told you all it was a long story!

Some dealers in the BFE parts of the country are getting more like $20-30k over. But fuck that. Because Silicon Valley, 30+ deep wait list, and not every Acura dealer around here chose to sell/service the car. Some of the customers on our list $50k is a dealbreaker, but to some of them it's not even a day's income. This car we're getting will sell easily. It's not a preferred spec, but it's not the weird blue-green "Nord Grey" color (which has a 1% take rate so far) either.

not saying its wrong, but thats the difference between a high end car manufacture and some soccer moms shuttle producer.

the one don't give discounts nor do they mark up the sticker. if they would, they don't talk about it on the webs and no other customer feels disrespected, just saying.

Wow $225K is Mclaren territory and that's a straight forward no contest in favor of the Mclaren!!!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It seems odd (for both parties) that the price wasn't agreed on when he placed the order.

I'm not hating - I totally get the supply and demand thing. When I bought a WRX back in 2001, you could drive them off the forecourt for $8k over invoice, or order and wait 8 weeks for invoice price. I did the latter, but to each his own.

Kinda hard to know the final price of a vehicle 10 years in advance of its release, no?

Yup. Obviously they didn't agree on a price 10 years in advance. But they agreed on a marked-up price AFTER the 10 year period right when the guy placed his order. So, he initially said he was prepared to pay an extra $50k to have it now, rather than waiting a few more years.

All I was saying is that for some people, having one of the first is worth paying a premium for.

I'm not going to lose sleep over whether someone maybe couldn't afford $30,000 vs. $50,000 markup over msrp on a supercar. Putting a deposit down ten years in advance guarantees the buyer was going to flip it.

I'm working for the wrong employer. Anyone need a combat experienced helicopter pilot? Air assault, med chase, VIP... high altitude and mountain ops experienced. Will accept a used Porsche, well, just because lol

My cousin flew helos for the ANG for a while. Realized it was a dead end and offered no future career pathing. He switched to fixed wing, did 3 years in afghanistan, then 2 more as a contractor, and now he got on with United.

More planes than copters bro! :)

Yup. We're no Ferrari. Where every new vehicle goes for sticker (until they quickly hit the secondhand market). And the higher end Ferraris they wont even let you buy unless you've owned at least a few starter Ferraris first.

We are just like any other mass market brand that gets a halo car. A Chevy salesman hates doing mini deals all day long on Tahoes and Malibus all day, but loves whenever a new special edition Corvette comes out. Or the Ford salesman doing invoice deals on Fusions all day practically wetting himself when he gets to charge twenty over for a new GT350.

Like I said, if we could just get sticker on every vehicle we sell, we'd happily do sticker deals on the new NSX. But because we sell vehicles to brave the parking lot at Costco, we lose our ass on all of them. So because of that, and the fact that American Honda made us go about $140k all in for new tools, equipment, training, and furniture to be able to sell/service this car...we have to charge this much for the car just to pay for all that shit!

Believe it or not, just about everyone who put a deposit down years (or even as much as a decade) ago...they either owned one of the old NSXs for quite some time or still actually have the car. The guy who was #1 on our list still has his old NSX and its in pretty good shape too. Our #3 guy daily drives his and has over a quarter million miles on it!

Funny, I don't remember any disparaging remarks :angel I simply told you that f you really thought you could get it for that price and you could swing it, you should go for it. As long as we can can confirm zero accident damage. The last one I saw change hands went for $1.95M

For that kind of coin, we fly there and see it in person.

Rob, I really like those new GT350's. Just can't bring myself to have a REAL nice sports car as a daily driver (lexus GS350 is too nice even I'm thinking). Burn through brakes and stuff. Should have gotten a leaf or something. Then have something nice in the garage. Problem is, bought a temp house to make a rental prop and the garage is pretty tight with the new Tahoe in it. Have too much shit!

Stan, would this be a garage queen or a daily driver?

Group buy? If so, I'm in for like 1% equity. I'll take a 25% gain.

Wait, do we have to pay cap gains on it? :p

I just want a slightly bigger van. Hell, it doesn't even have to be newer than the one I have, but it would be nice to own something less than a decade old.
