R6 vs 600rr

Pick a color and/or logo design. I would get an R6. The newer honda's ergo's felt odd to me. I rode an 05-07 but nothing newer.

the 05-06 and 07 ergos are different. The 07-08 is a very different bike

And yeah...midrange is not a problem on 600s. I was just looking at my tach yesterday while loafing around surface streets and thinking about how it already feels like it's starting to kick ass at 6k. How fast do you need to accelerate, really?

maybe some of these guys could stand to lose some denominator from the power/weight ratio

What does "street riding" really mean? Personally I hate riding through a bunch of stop lights but I imagine the feeling would be the same no matter what bike I am on. Does being on a 600RR make stop and go traffic more enjoyable?

That being said, I usually hit lights on my way to the freeway or the hills. I don't really put put around town, do you guys? I guess if that's what you do mostly OP, the CBR would be a good choice (according to the shootouts).

If it's a torque thing, you'll have enough to get you around town in an R6 as well as any other 600. There's no point in gunning it to the next stop light.

Just for reference, my commute is 30 minutes each way. I don't have any complaints doing it on an R6 except for it being really easy to get a speeding ticket.

I'll hit as few stop lights as possible :)

Holy shit man - this bird has more plastic up front than both of those bikes combined!!!! :wtf:thumbdown:wtf:thumbdown:wtf:thumbdown

HAHA!!! Ok, I just looked up where Santa Rosa where. I don't think I'm gonna ride 100 miles just to test ride a bike :(

But, I'm sure I can find a dealer that's closer that I can at least sit on some Honda's and see how they feel.

Thanks again all.

I don't know about him but my 250 cruised at 9K on the freeway. :|

dude, thats right in the meaty section of the torque curve!

lol I cruise at 7k on the freeway. Road it home 35 miles without ear plugs and had a headache for hours :teeth

Exactly why a 250 isn't a gutless on the road as everybody seems to think it is.

A liter bike on the street is a quick way to get in over your head and rear end/smash into someone who darts out in front of you.

I guess I've been riding large displacement bikes on the streets since 1995 for sod-all then... :rolleyes :(

Neither did I. I dont have a liter bike, but I can imagine right hand control being key, esp on the street
