RIP Marco Simoncelli

I'm in Concord Monday thru Friday.

If you can't come by, just send me a Self-Addressed, Stamped Envelope and I'll send you a decal or two.

Hope you don't mind if I send you a SASE?

I was flying all morning and just now heard the news. I can't even describe this feeling I have. Shock? Sorrow? Disbelief? All the above? I wasn't even that big a fan of him, yet I feel so sad. Damn, my thoughts and heart go out to everyone. What a huge loss.

I just made up a little batch of these. They're small, 2" x 3" or 1" x 1.5"

Swing by my shop in Concord if you want one. No charge.

Mike, I want one for my windscreen. I'll pick it up from you when I swing by for the TAAF decals.

SuperMike, you are the man. Can you save me a couple of each size? I won't be able to get out there for another week or two, but would love to have a few of those for my gear. I will, of course, donate to the shop.

I was watching it on Speed Channel, I was in disbelief. One of my favorite riders for his aggression and his style. RIP Marco.

I have to say, the first two laps with Bautista, Sic really put on a last show. That was some great racing. Oddly enough, during the broadcast, all the announcers could talk about prior to the crash was Simmoncelli. Lot's of camera and air time on him.

This bums me more than... well, it's just fucking killing me.

I avoid MotoGP news because I don't watch the race until later in the week, so when I saw all the Simoncelli avatars I was all selfish/jealous like "WTF everybody jumping on my bandwagon, I liked him first." Then I saw Google news headline.

Fuck. Man. Just fuckity fuck.

It makes me want to believe in Heaven.

Have Rossi or Edwards commented on the accident? I couldn't imagine being either of them right now

Quoted from la times on another forum:

There is a certain quote from Simoncelli that people are posting all over the web. Not sure what the original source was, but it seems to be bringing comfort to a lot of people.

When asked if he was afraid of dying in an accident, Simoncelli apparently responded: "No. You live more for five minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life."

Amazing words. And I'll take some decals too mike. Great job. Love when the community can come together like this.

Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in Le Mans: "A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing’s important to men who do it well. When you’re racing, it... it’s life. Anything that happens before or after... is just waiting." :cool

Edwards had this to say on his facebook page:

"Thanks to everyone for ur support at this time :( Very sad to see a friend pass in any case. I'm holding up ok mentally, it was a very tragic accident :( Physically, besides a dislocated shoulder & ligaments involved, think both wrists & left heel have fractures too, getting X-rays on Wednesday. I feel sad for the whole MotoGP community right now, my heart is heavy for everyone affected, from family to fans. God speed my friend, u will be missed.”

But the only thing (i believe) that Rossi has said publicly is what is posted on his website:
