RIP Marco Simoncelli

I will take some decals as well, Mike. I will send out an envelope tomorrow.

Quoted from la times on another forum:

When asked if he was afraid of dying in an accident, Simoncelli apparently responded: "No. You live more for five minutes going fast on a bike like that, than other people do in all of their life."

Amazing words.

Thanks for sharing that...... :thumbup

GODspeed Marco Simoncelli :angel

I looked forward to seeing you battle with the front runners race after race. So eager, so determined, and your competative nature had me glued to the telli to see what would unfold lap after lap. I ...... WE will all miss not seeing you on the grid and GP will not be the same without you.

Lastly, while roaming the pit area at Laguna, you happen to be the only GP racer around for the opportunity to capture a pic. Such irony and so glad I was there to capture the moment.

Thank you,

that Vid brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my heart :thumbup

yeah - awesome video. seriously. but it just fucking pisses me off. it's all wrong. it's not supposed to end like this. we're talking split second timing here. it's just not fucking right. split-fucking-second-timing. godammit. it's shit.

I'm sure we can all agree that he was out there doing what he LOVED to do. If there was ever a time, why not then?

i'm so late to the game. i was wondering why everyone was posting #58's everywhere and then it just clicked when i was checking out to see if motogp dvd's were ready for preorder :(

wtfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff i'm so sad. i always remembered simoncelli. hard to miss his presence... :( saaaaaaaaaad poooooooooo sad :(

More heartbreaking info from the MotoGP site:

"The late rider’s father, Paolo, and Marco Simoncelli's long time friend and compatriot, Valentino Rossi, traveled together on the same Alitalia flight from Kuala Lumpur with the fallen rider’s casket."

This morning on the news there was a headline "Reintratta la salma di Simoncelli." I figured that meant he was coming back here.

I have seen a lot of people wearing Honda hats and have heard his name often. I like reading his quotes. Personally it is a small comfort to know he passed doing what he loved the most.

I just made up a little batch of these. They're small, 2" x 3" or 1" x 1.5"

Swing by my shop in Concord if you want one. No charge.
