so the "i want to speak to your sergeant" situations will be a little different now 😆

but seriously, congrats!

My mantra is:

I'm traveling.

Call your supervisor.

Name and badge number?

I'm not resisting.

âš¡ âš¡ âš¡ âš¡ âš¡ <<bzzt>> Arrrrgh.

I can't breathe.

I don't consent to search.

But I didn't do anything wrong.

Thank you!

So I just got through my first week. My department is trying something new and I'm paired up with another sergeant for the first 6 weeks so they can help train me in all the things I need to know about, and the new job roles.

I've been told about all the added hassles and stress, but so far none of that had caught up with me yet.

The biggest adjustment right now is working a graveyard shift. Due to Motors, and another assignment, I've been working mostly normal daytime hours for the last 6 years. Now I'm back on patrol. After my first night, I had to be in Traffic Court the next morning, so that was extra rough. :laughing

So far, I'm enjoying the new position.

Fellow night shifter here, it's a bit of an adjustment.

Yeah, I've worked plenty of Graves, and at one time, I used to prefer it. It's hard on the body and studies show it takes years off one's life, as we're not evolved to be nocturnal.
