Skyrim

I made level 21 and the game just got a shitload more difficult. I had to bust out a scroll to summon a storm atronarch. I never use magic, it's for pussies. Guess I'll have to start now.

Oh, and the game would not let me shoot this asshole bandit with a bow while hidden. Missed every time even though he was sitting in a chair and I was crouching still. Fort Haggard prison or something.

Shoot the wall behind him to get him to stand up and move. I notice the bandits will react to the impact of the arrow. So if I get one that's just around a corner I'll put an arrow in the wall that I want him to go to and ready the next one.

Still getting my ass kicked trying to go up the mountain to meet the greybeards. :(

whatever they are. The guys up on the mountain who call you because you are dragonborn

Yea, nobody summons the dragonborn. The greybeards can come to the dragonborn and grovel and beg for his services. BRB, some hot chick asked me to find 20 nirnroots for her...

:laughing I was also getting slapped around by the trolls and big cats , ended up just sprinting up the fookin mountain to get there.

So close to my dragonskin armor, yea yea 'light vs heavy blah blah'. I played light in Oblivion and loved it. :nchantr

I still have been very good about not stealing, naturally because of this i'm not super rich at the moment either. All I did was steal in Oblivion, I think i'm just gonna beef my self up a little more finish the story and then start doing some deeper exploring. I've been sticking pretty close to the main story line but I have done a bunch of starters for the side quests. :party

ya I have all Elven armor right now. Lightweight ftw.

I crafted myself a set of Dragon Scale armor last week. Haven't used it though because all my Elven armor are Legendary up the wazoo with all kinds of whizbang enchantments. With all my archery armor on I'm dealing +100 extra bow damage. I'm gonna wait until I get 100 Enchant then I'll enchant the piss out of the Dragon Scale armor and smith them up to Legendary.

I got a set of Glass Armor too which was my favorite in Oblivion but haven't used it at all for the same reasons. And it wasn't long after I crafted glass armor when I got Dragon armor.

BTW, I just realized last night that the Smithing path is not a loop. The constellation makes it look like you can just keep going around the loop because it doesn't dead-end like the other constellations. I thought once I got Dragon Armor I can just keep going along the path to Daedric - Ebony, etc. Nope. Dragon is full stop. Now I gotta go back up the heavy side of the path since some of the stronger weapons are on the Daedric/Ebony path (and I got Dwarven ingots up the wazoo).

Also still running around in full elven (I think i'm lv22) I can't remember where I got it but upgrading hasn't really seemed worth it yet. I just unlocked glass so I might check that out but so far I have been plenty fast enough to slow/stop enemies and pummel them while they're down. Staff of paralysis is tits :D

I was aware of the Smithing not looping, i'm playing on PC so I figure someone will mod that sooner or later. I need to work on enchanting, I haven't really gone beyond putting anything on armor , just weapons.

I can't smith anything better than "fine" yet.

I'm constantly upgrading my armor and weapons. I got them up to Legendary awhile ago but everytime I brew a stronger batch of Smithing potion or enchant a stronger piece of Smithing armor/jewelry I'll upgrade all my armor and weapons again. It only usually takes 1 ingot of something per upgrade and you easily get an extra 8+ points of protection or damage per upgrade.

I'm damn near invincible right now in my Elven armor. Things are barely making a dent in my health bar. And now I'm dual-wielding a glass dagger and glass sword with Absorb Health. I just Leeroy right into a group of enemies and hack away. :laughing

Haven't seen that one yet , is it under the 1 handed tree?

You and this game were not meant for each other. Probably best if you walk away now and save yourself some time.

Nah it's the game for me. I am just playing it like the sandbox game it is and enjoying it. While you go and do quests, forge alliances and scrap for gold to get the new armor I just roll in and take what I want. If I can't do it then I find a creative way to get what I need. It's kinda cool but at the same time I wish there was a plot for vampires.

My only issue right now and I wouldn't even call it an issue but more of an exploit is pathing. It's horrible, and there is 2 worlds for it. One is the default world where you can go anywhere but if your companion gets stuck then he goes to the "pathing world" and takes some very odd and far detours to get to you. It's great if you got a bow and can trick giants or anything large into trying to run up a cliff they can't get up while you are plinking them from above!

Is magic over powered in this game? I can pretty much slaughter towns but when it comes to magic omg I am in trouble. One guy can come up to me and shoot ice bolts which kill me in one shot! WTF! I guess it goes hand in hand because I am getting 1 hit kills with my bow and arrow set. Is there a way to disable a magic user from afar? I have a few weapons that remove magicka from an enemy when I hit them but I have to get close!

Craft a bunch of Damage Magicka/Damage Magicka Regen poisons. Throw in some Slow/Paralysis poisons. Shoot from afar.

Glass is way cooler this time around, I am so glad it doesn't look as stupid as it did in Oblivion :p

Yup. I always knew it wasn't a loop, but I had been figuring Glass and Daedric weapons would be equal in power. What a sucker I was. :|

Of course, I restarted and I'm playing as a little waif of a mage this time. Level 20 or so. Robes and a pair of leather boots ftw! I just have to... you know... never, ever get hit. My enchantment-boosted 200HP and Ironflesh basically boil down to letting me survive a single hit so I have the chance to flee! :laughing

It flips back and forth between being fun and not. The enemies started to get really, really tough to beat and I had to rely on my Atronarch and all kinds of special magic (Calm, Turn Undead, etc), which was challenging- but got ridiculous. Then I got the Impact perk... enemies are so strong I can't really win a tough fight without it, but it almost feels like cheating sometimes.

Doesn't help that I'm playing Master this time, and I refuse to use a companion.

Do I put those on my arrows or is it something I throw at the enemy? Also, do you know the ingredients needed for those? I am sure there is a wiki somewhere on the web but I like BARF!
