So, you turn diving down to the Titanic into a tourist business..what could go wrong?

AP reports that the pre-dive waiver included a statement regarding experimental equipment and materials.

I believe all the documented pre dive correspondence from experts may lead to nullification of the waivers.

Oddly, CNN is now reporting that Superman Dawood’s mom says she gave up her seat on the Titan because he really wanted to go. Previously, we were hearing from another relative that he went to please his dad but didn’t really want to go.

Does Guinness bother to acknowledge such frivolous records. Almost anything you do down there could be considered a record. A record for the deepest fart why not.

I doubt it's among their responsibilities to report whatever gives closure to the victim's families.

Just an odd decision, IMO. Nothing new for government transparency, but odd none the less.

Heard something about the kid going for the deepest Rubics cube record, although Guinness Book denied his request for sanction.

I kinda hope this isn't true. Does the record for a Rubik's cube need to be anything other than who's done it the quickest?

Really really hope his gameplan wasn't to have an asterisk next to his name for a puzzle that can solved in a matter of seconds... literally.

I'm pretty good with a Rubik's cube and I can hold my breath for quite awhile. Can I get a record for solving a cube while sitting at the bottom of a hot tub?

Maybe Guinness did not want to encourage such a dangerous endeavor. :dunno. Hoping that young guy did have his own agenda/dream for his voyage. (btw just checked and there are like 20 Rubik’s categories including most done on a skateboard. G’luck with the hot tub.)

I am most certainly NOT a tough guy. I will try not to take offense at being refereed to as a human. :laughing

I'm not sitting around judging anyone, I am actually defending others who came in here with what seems to me to be a reasonable response to this stuff that others are calling out as a strange reaction.

:dunno

I can respect that. I took things different but that's on me.

I figured that prior statement was the aunt reaching the bargaining stage of grief.

With any death, there is always second guessing, it's human nature.

It takes many forms and can go on for years, it's our way of coping/rationalizing an event that has finality when our minds aren't ready for that finality and are struggling with that old, old question and dead end of What Could I have Done to Prevent This. There is also the psychological trap of survivor's guilt.

Speaking of Billionaires demonstrating death takes all comers: Jim Crown of the Chicago Crown family who owns Aspen Ski Co. among investment banking wealth ($10.2B) died a few days ago at Aspen Raceway on his 70th birthday. The lack of runoff is atrocious. Watch in the video...no, fucking, thanks.
