Stock Thread 2019

Not as soon as this summer. The Fed hasn't even begun lowering rates yet. Lowering the Fed funds rate will keep the economy propped up for a bit

Who else is kicking themselves for not buying MSFT 2 years ago at half the price it is today. I was watching that one almost daily thinking I'm already holding too much of a position :facepalm

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut and ignore all the rules about diversification.

I don't see why you can't hold some Microsoft and still have a diversified portfolio. You shouldn't put yourself in an all or nothing situation which will lead to regrets ... It's not like the price of Microsoft is anywhere near Birkshire Hathaway's Class A shares ...

I quit losing sleep over spilt milk long ago, I owned Apple at something like $18 and McDonalds at $14, sold both for profits. Had I kept, I'd be considerably wealthier. That's life. Today I wouldn't buy Mr softie

Very interesting topic.

So war will being us down immediately, then things should spike a bit! Nice. Trump pulling every lever to boost the economy as high as possible. Pretty brilliant really, until it bottoms out somehow..

I effectively did. I put my 401k in to a ultra high growth tech ETF and it’s basically doubled since 2015. That includes contributions too though. So not quite double.

and the crash will begin. Or at least my whale friends tell me. All speculation.

Take it as you will. Trump wants a rise before a dump.

S&P is at 5956...is that a typo? Do you suggest that once it hits one of these figures, it'll tank?

Yea typo my bad. Do not take what I say seriously as it’s all speculation. The only weight I put is that I know these folks.

What are their respective net worths and how are they invested? Will tell you quickly what their true beliefs are.

Good thing about being poorest, is that you’ve never had it good and nothing to lose.

But once you’re rich, you can’t go back to being poor. So if they are rich, they sure won’t take risks that could make them poor. Know what I mean? :)

Fully agree

Coming up with a few bond recommendations.

SPLB
PMX
PML

And and REIT

PSEC

Always do your own research

Might want to watch $PCG. News could push it higher. They’re asking for a rate hike. No shocker.....

Record high. The manipulation continues. Never bet against a corrupt government and its election tool.

I'm pretty nervous at these levels, but it could go a lot higher. And most certainly will go a lot lower at some point.

Funny I just looked at my Vanguard Roth IRA today. I have not contributed to it in years after I raided it for a down payment on a house. Its up 11.5%

Buffett's advice has always been, buy what you understand.

Other than LGLV, I'm going to stop buying equities and dollar cost average into bond funds. My 401(k) contributions will continue to buy into large cap growth, s&p 500 and nasdaq 100 index funds

I like your PML recommendation, afm199
PIMCO Municipal Income Fund II
