Tattoo removal...

I'd get a tattoo, but I can't think of anything original.

Lots off people have cool ink, but if I did the same thing, I would feel like I was copying.

"No ink" is the new "Got ink".

I pretty much fail at anything artistic, maybe that is why I enjoy the arts so much :laughing

I’ve been getting tattoos for 20 years, standing out or being original never crossed my mind. I like the artwork

Shit I have an entire sleeve of pure abstraction that was designed on the fly, in the room. It’s prob as “original” as it gets but I’m really digging American tradition right now and the traditional motifs. I have have a rose with a dagge, which probably literally millions have, and I like it just as much.

Do Polynesians get traditional Pacific Islander tattoos to be original? Literally the opposite.

Original was probably the wrong way to put it. I can't think of anything meaningful to me is a better way to put it.

If I could come up with something meaningful I would be in the tattoo shop in a second.

For example, Polynesian tattoos are meaningful, but if I were to get them it would feel to me like I was ripping off someone else since I'm not Polynesian.

not a single one of my tattoos has meaning lol but I get what you mean for sure

fuck you I'm unique just like everybody else! :twofinger

So many ugly tattoos on people at work. Just random blobs of ink. Hard to believe the results were intended.

I have no tattoos. In San Francisco, that makes me a mutant.

Appropo to nothing: getting a tattoo next Saturday - a memorial piece for my dog who passed earlier this year. I have three tattoos, each means something to me (even the one I got just for shits and giggles - it means sometimes you just have to say "fuck it" and get a tattoo because it's pretty and you want it).

i would get a tottoo just cuz it's pretty .. sometimes, i have to get rid of stuff that reminds of shit. having an emotional attachment to an object for me isn't a good thing for some reason.

you'll have to show us!!

I was scared off of tattoos when I was 18 and saw an 85 y/o retired sailor without his shirt. He musta got his tats in the 1930’s, but he looked more like he was covered in leeches.

I always felt like I had to have some deep meaningful reason for getting a tattoo. My mom passing was a pretty good reason...and then I was like fuck it I want to get a tattoo of something I like just cause I like it. So I got a Harry Potter tattoo and its my favorite :laughing

At the pool in Vegas was an attractive couple painted from head to toe in tatoos with the exception of their faces. Obviously tattoos were their "thing". It just seems like a weird hobby to define oneself without. And what happens when all the space is used?

considering skin is the largest organ in our body, it horrifies me to think what it takes to undo the initial assault.

seems incongruous for someone who otherwise takes exceptional physical care of themself.

my :2cents

adore you, and only hope you give some thought to what you are doing to your body - and if it’s worth it.

Half of my tats are spur of the moment, zero thought put in. :laughing Whoops.

:laughing Or cover-ups. I've got a friend that is currently quite covered, head to toe, and has recently begun the process of covering up some, so as to avoid removal. :laughing

you are totally adorable. have had the polar opposite experience - on a recent trip to french polynesia, had an appointment with a very famous body art artist. takes MONTHS to get on his schedule. in spite of all the preparation - once i arrived, i felt like an alien. so out of place, and so not right. and i declined to go ahead with it. he didn’t bat an eye. he was totally cool about it. almost like the white woman showed a little respect in not going forward. and he seemed to appreciate that.

i often burrow underground. the dark damp soil suits me.

I've never wanted to erase any of my tattoo history. Doesn't sound like fun...….

The one around my belly button is a tragedy, but the story around it makes me laugh. My very first was treated to a sweet cover-up 20 years later. Love the pain of the needle, but can't imagine the removal sting.

I watched a friend go through a session of removal and I will not do it. I'll just deal with the consequence of a bad tattoo or a cover up. No regerts !!

I saw what you did there! This is my thoughts, as I look at the tattoo on my forearm that I may one day cover up..... Till then it's a great reminder of the permanence of ones actions, and to consider the future when making decisions!
