Adding Ohlins front and rear is about 4k for most every bike aside form the grom :laughing.

No US pricing is available yet but I would imagine it would be 2-5k more, I have no idea though, they might keep the prices low to try and penetrate the market more.

I've heard rumors that they will be about $5K more than the standard bikes, but the standard bikes price will decrease a bit.. So, I'm gambling on $23K
 
The funny thing is that Lightning can easily disprove the scam claim by simply selling motorcycles.

A DC charger would make a lot more sense CCS/ChaDeMo allow a much faster turn around. The Level 2 chargers would make more sense at a place like a park or beach where you're likely to spend a few hours there.

The nice thing about J1772 is that (AFAIK) every EV made can use it in one way or another.

I have used J1772 on all four of my EVs. Are there any EVs that cannot use J1772?

But here in Payson, there are new Tesla Superchargers, but all the other chargers are at one of the car dealers and probably also require the same brand of vehicle as the dealer sells.

But yeah, it would be best for most of the gas stations had fast charging as well as J1772. The problem with fast charging is there are too many standards. At least ChadaMo & CCS, Tesla, Roadster & Type 2, Type 3 . Are there others?

And where is "type 2" & "Type 3 " used (as shown on Plugshare) and what's it for?

The original Roadster doesn't have fast charging to my knowledge. It just had a proprietary plug - but it wasn't fast.

CCS seems to be what the industry is moving forward with across the board. Type 2 is a mennekes type it looks like, used in European chargers. NewZeroland YouTuber talks about using them a lot in New Zealand as well.

Tesla uses proprietary fast charge system - so their system is somewhat irrelevant to the conversation as they are most likely not going to change and their superchargers will be closed off (only for Tesla's) for the foreseeable future. Plus Tesla's can charge on CCS, just need the adapter.

CHAdeMO is gonna go away I think but who knows on that one.

Don't some fast charging stations have multiple adapters/plugs anyway? I feel like I've seen the big ones with a couple types.. maybe CHADeMO and CCS?
 
I've been to chargers with CCS, Chademo, and Tesla adapters all on one station.

I believe CCS is the prevailing standard.
 
Japan is the ChaDeMo hold out. I think it was a Japanese started standard and tis not exactly a bad standard either but CCS seems to be more dominant.

Yeah, any of the Zeros that don't have the charge tank ( aside form the new sr/f)

If you don't have a tesla there are pretty much two standards. CCS and CHeddarmore which are usually at the same place.

Nah, I just like them and have met some really cool employees.
And it cracks me up how some folks seem to think if it doesn't exist on social media it must not be real.

I barely have time to keep up with email, but I sure like BARFing, so there is that. i don't have time to watch YouTube. Or certainly make vids to post.

I think folks that buy $40K motorcycles might not care to post their shit on social media either.

Projectification is the word for what internet jockeys do, I think.

Edit: I’ll try to stop by Lightning in the next few days and get their side. I know some of the stuff in vids is not true.
