The Electric Motorcycle Thread

You thought modular batteries were a joke they're already here time to get myself one of those old Nissan Leafs for dirt cheap and retrofit it. This will solve the problem with people who live in apartments with no chargers.

Cake ownership is different than a demo ride

Hmm interesting I wouldn't mind going on a scenic tour on a Cake bike, that's around the Bakersfield area.

I'm having a real issue with my Cake Kalk&

There's no parts for anything due to the pandemic. N+1 for this very reason, not to miss a ride.

The CEO of Cake who wrote to me never stated that the pandemic's affect on battery availability was the issue. He sighted that the large volume of sales compared to their inventory is what is causing me not getting a battery. Since the sales person for my area is located in Santa Cruz, CA 45 minutes from my home there is no reason, especially if sales are so high that he could not bring me a demo battery to use until they can 'catch up' on supply versus sales.

No ETA offered for a replacement? I question ANYONE who would accept that answer for any consumer product let alone a $14,000 motorcycle.

That sucks. But honestly not surprising. It's a small company. Even with brands like Aprilia and even Ducati you need to wait for a while if they don't have the part in stock. That said, I'd be annoyed as well without any ETA.

Hopefully they sort it out.

The shop that sells the Banshee posted some video of it on Instagram. They're kind lame videos but it's definitely got a lot of power. You can hear them shifting it sometimes. Doesn't look like a beginner friendly bike =P

Speaking of Banshee this dude is building an electric Banshee quad, you know that 350cc 2stroke monster Banshee. I would like to do donuts in that please, it must be effortless =P I've always wanted to ride an electric quad. I have a spare Sur Ron battery and controller all I need is the motor and harness =P

Please note the parts listed below were not in stock at the USA warehouse and will now take about 4-6 weeks to arrive from Italy.

The following parts are backordered:

831393 x 2 OEM Aprilia Oil Drain Plug Crush Washer -#831393

8 weeks for oil change.

What's the purpose of trikes? Regular dustings of snow, but not deep enough for a snow bike or snowmobile?

WAKE THE F UP! They are real they're being tested with fleets in the bay area already.

So, they aren't on the market?

Wake me up when they are available to mass market and there is a solid network of them to be used and several vehicles including mottos choose from.

How soon do you think your future is?

Yeah I know how it feels to have a battery crap out on you. Polaris is buying back my Empulse because they don't have the resources to replace the battery pack =/ is terrible that i don't have my bike anymoreand it takes a while the buyback process but at least they are taking care of me as best they can.
