The Electric Motorcycle Thread

BMW released a new electric scooter and it's lame. Won't even bother posting the link here. They clearly aren't serious about EVs.

I thought the TS Bravo was based on the Zero S platform based on the rectangular battery and low power, but with 550 pounds it's not. It's the worst of all worlds.

Hmm the CE 04... how is this any better than the C Evolution? Why couldn't they just improve the C Evolution? It's smaller I guess.

spec says the CE04 is 100 lbs lighter than the C evolution which is around 610 lbs. (Burgman 650 is around 600 lbs, C650GT is around 575 lbs. )

Tmax is 485 lbs.

Such a better price point. Still compared to the Energicas i dont think it offers much unless you really like the style of it. Even comparing to the Zero SR/f.

can those things even charge at L2?

IIRC no L2.

WTF did they do, put lead batteries in that thing?

if u are referring to the C evo, it uses battery from the bmw i3.

i tried putting the C evo on the centerstand at the dealer, it was a chore.
Piece of cake on my old Tmax.

It's definitely more competitively priced than the HD counterpart, that's how much it should have been in the first place.

Yeah but I don't know why one would choose it over Energica or Zero, and it doesn't even have the HD brand any more but essentially it's the same bike. They should have launched it at this price to begin with.

Yep my thoughts exactly, now if they can release the Long Way Up bike which is pretty much just a Livewire with Pan America parts on it they'd be on to something. There is no electric adventure bike yet and I think with the fast charging it makes it possible. But I would want at least a 150mile range out of an adventure bike and most likely you won't be able to pick it up if you dropped it.

I like that white color tho

There's no denying the fit and finish on the Livewire is top notch. Reasons one may go with the Livewire over the Energicas or Zeros:

  • DC fast charging which the Zero's don't have.
  • Better availability than the Energicas. It's proving hard for Energica to keep up with demand.

Like I posted in another forum, it's nice to see some real competition in the electric motorcycle space. At the advertised price, it makes the Livewire a genuine option depending on your needs.

With the Livewire's lower price point, Energica's new motor, and the Zero SR/S, it means it's a good time to be an electric motorcycle fan.

The DC "fast" charging is hella slow though on the Livewire. Not sure how it is on the Energicas but I thought it was actually relatively fast.

The only reason they have better availability is because of low demand, IMO, and also because Energica has had issues and shipping delays due to Covid.
