The Electric Motorcycle Thread

True points...I was just trying to show why the Livewire may now be a viable option for some buyers now that the price has been reduced so much.

As with their gas powered bikes, there are many areas where the competition's electric motorcycles are better but an argument could probably still be made as to why someone would want a Livewire over a Zero or Energica.

I'm obviously an Energica fan but if I could live large like Jay, I wouldn't mind adding a Livewire to the collection. ;)

Man would be fun to try one of these out. I could probably do all that stuff on the Light Bee but the it's not a "real" trials bike. I agree you don't need a clutch at all. That trials playground is dope I wish our trials area was more spread out at Metcalf.

I believe there is a local metcalf trials rider that has a EM. I remember he was trying to sell it and sticking to his gas trials bike.

here's some trials on a surron,

Dennis is the Metcalf regular. I had an EM trials bike for a month or so tp play around with. It was fun. It was light. It had minimal range because the battery was light too.

Oh I know the Sur Ron can do trials I can do some of the obstacles on the trials course I did ride it through the Rubicon =P It's just not a proper trials bike. The handlebars don't turn enough, I think the rake is different also.

The Electric Motion bike I think has roughly the same capacity as the Light Bee I think its like 1800wh where the Sur Ron is like 2100wh so it last just as long as a Light Bee I would think, it's not like you are riding fast anyway.

"At a club level it's more than capable, British championship, maybe not" [due to clearance.] Seems like a buy.

Saw this on ADVrider

Looks like a light weight KTM dirtbike or e bicycle. You figure the power output limits for the line are 4-18kw with the Freeride EX-C being 18kw and the Sport Mini being 4kw. This would put those two in the middle around 10kw. That would put those bikes into a category something like a Sur Ron Light Bee or the Drill One. Maybe KTM has seen the success of the Light Bee and are going to compete.

DAYUM that finish, that's like a supermoto pass! Would be interesting to see an Energica Eva or Zero SR/F race this, 8 laps might be pushing it though. Handlebar race! Interesting note is Eric Bostrom was in this race he used to race for Brammo.

Well shit, now I wanna race my 890, seeing how much fun that race looked! :wow

"The four-round series comprises four unique and challenging disciplines with a mix of Road Racing, Short Track, Half-Mile, and TT; with the caveat to success being racers will have to configure the same bike to each firmament"

Disappointed with the Zero FXE

Yeah, lame. Doesn't seem any different than the bike you used to have. Looks like they added a color display and new bodywork. Otherwise I don't see w major change from the FXS.. Price is up there too.
