The Home Grower's Thread

One thing I'm finding frustrating is that my leaves turn a bit yellow, and then I have to wait until the next watering to mix up the nutrients...hopefully in the future I'll just get it right, but you can only make one change every few days at best.

I think my plants need MORE nutrients than every second watering.

Moved my two plants outside 3-4 weeks ago thinking there were enough daylight hours and they would grow all summer. Oops. Now what?

You are still good. It will veg back. When you feed her just bump up on the N a little bit.

Back in the day, Ed Rosenthal visited our garden and chastised us about depriving N. oops. So bump the "grow" part of your nutes a little. They will show in a week. As long as you flush in the last 10 days you're good.

Yep. Healthy plant there. Keep going. Just make sure to thin to 3-5 main shoots and provide support.

I have lots of these babies growing.

I was a little paranoid because the plants seem healthy except the last few weeks a lot of the leaves have been turning yellow despite the nutrients being ok as far as I know.

Is that normal during the budding period?

Yeah don't worry about it. Last week I would try and start to defoliate heavy.

On a side note, I just picked up a gavita 1150 I'm so excited to try this out after doing led last run

Haha that's funny that's the exact same led I used last grow but I had the p600. I had it way to close to the plants and got some burn.

Getting there. A couple more weeks ought to do it I think.

So it seems you can get a decent grow in an Aerogarden, IF you use the newer high-end one with the more powerful LED. The older CFL model just produced a spindly plant that wasn't good for anything more than making clones.

How do you know the ideal time to harvest?

Get a jewelers lope, a good one or a small magnifying glass, and check the trichomes.. should be mostly milky and mostly orange hairs on top.. there was a good post I'll link when I find it

Tonight was watering (no nutrients) night...so I did some defoliating of the dying leaves and took photos.

You can see lots of bud sites but a lot of leaf browing

Ironically the last one is a clone I bought that I burned really early and seems to be doing the best now...
