The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

I have a feeling both teams will play very conservative so as to not make a turnover. Both defenses are very good at ball hawking, and both qbs can have an errant throw here and there.

I'm saying 23-20 Carolina

And still they found a way to lead the league in rushing attempts while averaging 4.3 per carry. No matter how I stack this game it keeps coming up as a Carolina blowout.

Prolly cause Cam was their 2nd leading rusher.

No doubt. As he will be in the SB. I am envisioning him shedding Miller like water for a 20+ yard scamper at least once.

Pass rush doesn't do much good against a guy like Newton unless it's under control and deliberate. That's not the Denver pass rush. They are a speed and pinch group with little push up the middle. Newton is going to break more than one run on this D.

Manning was very close to connecting on a few 30+ yard bombs Sunday. He may need to get a few of those to hit, if they are to have a chance.

This is probably the only thing that the DB will be able to do offensively. I'm banking on a resurgence of the dropsies capped off by forced throws that end up as pics for Manning. The level of ugliness won't exceed what we saw yesterday but Carolina is going to cover handily and total score will be over 50.

over 50, eh? that's bold. the over/under is 45.

I know. It is bold. I'm going with Carolina building a lead of around 27-28 and Denver putting up 17-20 riding a comeback until the Q4 pic-six Manning throws. Game over DB fans. It's off to Disneyworld for SuperCam and the gang.

P.S. And that's my upside view for the DB. Downside is a repeat of the NFCCG.

Hi from the Charlotte area, BARF.

Haters been hating on the Panthers all (nearly undefeated) year long. You can keep on hating, but I'm pretty sure the team doesn't care at this point. As a TEAM, both O & D, they have Denver outmatched at this point. Underrated and underestimated year long - there is a reason they went 16-1.

And right now, they're hot... Hot teams are a very hard thing to stop when the playoffs come around.

If Cam shows up with the same game face he had yesterday they are going to roll on the DB.

I don't know who's hating on the team. It just seems like two huge games might lead to a drop-off, whatever. I bet it's exciting down there, to be sure.

There is something to be said for playoff experience. I learned to never discount the Broncos of late. I just don't think its a sure thing. They do have some teeth left.

Wait, you aren't from Cleveland?

Denver's had some really fugly wins this year. I'm not too high on them.

Why you hating on the Broncos, hater? Denver doesn't care about your hate at this point, they just beat the defending Super Bowl champions. :x :p

Hmmm...I guess the data I'm looking at is wrong then?
PFR has the ranking in points allowed like this:
1. Seattle - 277
2. Cinci - 279
3. KC - 287
4. Denver - 296
5. Minn - 302
6. Carolina - 308

Even ESPN has it ranked this way on points allowed.

What am I doing wrong here?

My bad. You're correct.

My bad. You're correct.

Broncos had the No. 1 ranking in total defense for the first time in the franchise’s history. The Broncos also finished No. 1 in pass defense, No. 1 in sacks, No. 3 in run defense and No. 4 in scoring defense.

They're like, really good.
