The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

I don't know who's hating on the team. It just seems like two huge games might lead to a drop-off, whatever. I bet it's exciting down there, to be sure.

There is something to be said for playoff experience. I learned to never discount the Broncos of late. I just don't think its a sure thing. They do have some teeth left.

There's also something to be said for young teams who are too ... young and excited? to care? If you're really feeling yourself, it's pretty easy to ignore what the rest of the world says. So far, it has worked. I think if playoff nerves were going to strike, they probably would have struck during the Seattle or Arizona games. Technically, the Panthers franchise HAS played in a Super Bowl before... (Sigh, Tom Brady.)

Wait, you aren't from Cleveland?

Born in Ohio, transplanted to NC. Moved all over the place, then ended back in NC for graduate school. After I finish this PhD in two years, I'm hitting the road. Again.

I hear the weather is nicer in Charlotte. :p:laughing

It's actually a pretty good mix for east coast. Want snow? Go up high and you'll find it. Beaches? Best on the right coast. In 3.5 hours, we are at the marina in Southport, NC, and can get our sailing fix. Summers can be warm, but you can always head to the mountains and lose twenty degrees off the ambient. During this past snow storm, my backpacking 'home' of Mt. Mitchell had 66 inches of snow dropped on them in a two day period.

As much as I hate to admit it, it's a great place to live... But I'm ready for the next adventure.

Why you hating on the Broncos, hater? Denver doesn't care about your hate at this point, they just beat the defending Super Bowl champions. :x :p

No hate - I can respect what is/was likely Manning's final comeback of his career. Great way to go out on top, and beat one of your all time rivals. If Carolina lost to Arizona, I was all in to cheer for Denver and Manning to win.

Broncos had the No. 1 ranking in total defense for the first time in the franchise’s history. The Broncos also finished No. 1 in pass defense, No. 1 in sacks, No. 3 in run defense and No. 4 in scoring defense.

They're like, really good.

They also lost to the raiders.

They are, but the Panthers are also killer. Could be a great game, but I think it'll be hard to top the performance put on in the Denver vs NE game. That was amazing defense against some great Brady bullshit. Unstoppable force immovable wall kinda stuff.

And to be clear - I'm not really a Browns fan. I sort of watch, but I no longer care. That shit is an abusive relationship right there...

I mean... There aren't many other organizations in sports that shit on their fans to the extent of the front office of the Cleveland Browns. While I'll always cheer for the Indians and the Cavs, a man must know his limitations.

Take those panties off and man up. The Browns are a great NFL franchise. They suck horribly now and have for a decade but a real fan would ride that shit out. The Bengals went something like 14 years of non winning football. Talk about abusive. Dave Shula. David Klinger. Akili Smith. Ki-Jana Carter. I still get nightmares thinking about those scrubs. Then it turned around. Now it's rainbows and bunnies and winning seasons The Browns will get that again.

:| The real fans have been riding it out, and the owners are laughing that loyalty all the way to the bank.

Blah blah blah. Been there done that. Same shit I heard by plenty in Cincinnati in the 90's. I can guarantee you those same fucktards are rockin Dalton and Green Jerseys and talkin about how they love the Bengals and Who Dey!! :laughing fuck that. Win or lose, you support the teams you love. Cant really appreciate the plentiful wins if you dont know what the innumerable losses feel like. Every team has a period where they suck for a decade or more.

You sure spend a lot of time in this thread talking about your shitty team. But talk is cheap right. :twofinger

Shrug. Better than paying a shitload of money to go to a game. I save that for the Earthquakes.

wait, dont the earthquakes suck though?! I mean, aside from the fact that all of major league soccer sucks.

True, they won two Super Bowls since they left that shithole Cleveland and moved to Baltimore. :p

I knew some dork would bring that up. I woulda won money guessing it was you! :twofinger:twofinger

That might have some validity if Cleveland wasn't already the most 'losing-est' place in America, who has gone longer than any other major city/area without a professional sports championship in any of the major sports.

1964 - the Browns take the NFL title, pre superbowl... and then.. drought. That is not 'a decade', my friend, but for many, an entire lifetime. Suffering is all that Cleveland sports fans know, be it the so close but blown game 7 of the Indians against Florida, or the blown 3-1 lead again Boston, or the Cavs terrible record, then Lebron, then The Decision, followed by burnt jerseys, or the Browns list of 24 or 25 QBs since 1999.

We're talking about Cleveland, man. Cleveland.

Hello from San Diego!:|

middle of the pack and improving, and I won't bother with the second comment.

it's sure as hell a lot more fun going to Avaya than it is Levis, that's for damn sure.

How many teams take a 5 year "hiatus" and expect to win? :laughing

The current Browns are basically an expansion team with a library. Now 16+ years into their "new era", excuses are running out. (Have there been any teams added since '99?)

Hopefully Jackson can turn it around for them, Cleveland deserves better, ok, leme rephrase that, Cleveland deserves something, anything....

BTW Kestrel, you were called out in the Warriors thread after the thumping the Dubs put on the Cavs last week. :laughing

:thumbup

Avaya's solid. Those professional fans that do a lot of chanting (the...san jose fury perhaps?) were at a SJ Barracuda game a few weeks back, and were getting the ~500 fans to show some spirit. I was like "hey I saw those guys at Avaya before!"

San Jose Ultras.
