The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

It's not that I'm done with him. He's fine playing for the 'niners...though I don't think he wants to...but he is no Bavaro or Shockey.

True, he does not have Viking Warlord 'Roid Rage of past great TE's from the Giants :laughing, but still, I am just bitter that we didn't resign Martellus Bennet after the one year. Eli is just SO much better when he has a big dump off target for short yards to compliment his mid/long game.

So how about Darnell Docket to the Niners, huh? Did SF decide they needed an A Grade knee stomping nut kicker just in case Suh DID go to the Raiders? :teeth

That would be incredible. BMarsh is worth more than Brooks. If he does come I hope the 'niners include a clause in the contract that reduces his appearances on Inside the NFL and other media. Too time consuming and distracting.

Both are good players. Brooks is going to be a cap casualty no matter what, he won't be in SF. He makes too much money and lost his starting job to Aaron Lynch.

Chicago needs LBs and Brooks can still play at a high level. Niners need WRs. It's a win win.

niners sign jerome simpson :smoking:smoking

legalize it

The Niners seem to be moving super aggressively to prove they did not step in dogshit pushing Harbaugh out. SHould be an interesting time in the NFC West with Seattle sporting a chip on their shoulder and St. Louis continuing to improve.

:laughing Whoever decided to sign him must have been smokin some too.

mj-d retired after 9 seasons. now the raiders have $64M in cap space. i hear vince wilfork will not be franchise-tagged by the patsies...hmm.

can't wait for the oakland shopping spree to begin. like the pundits have said, they need to sign a big name early, and have that big name help sell the idea of coming to the raiders to other free agents. sorta what Tuck did with woodley. it'll be interesting.

Unless the Lions work a miracle in the next few days, I have a really hard time NOT seeing Suh in silver and black next year. I mean honestly, J-Tuck and K-Mack with Suh anchoring in the middle is a defensive line that nightmares are truly made of. With his dirty play and infamous attituide, SUh not only turns a D-Line with some promise into a monster threat, he also brings back the image of the Raiders bad old days in the 70's when they were actually a team be feared, before most Raider fans were born, but have somehow never let go of. If the Raiders have an opportunity to snag Suh on the open market they are fucking useless if they miss th eopportunity. Not only does it boost the tema talent, it provides a huge image win for the fanbase to a team threatening to leave town without a stadium deal.

I think the Hamburglar will probably end up with the Lions if they let Suh walk a sthey try to fill the hole and draft a long term fix. If Suh stays in Detroit though, Wilfork may Hamburgle his way into silver an dblack for a year or two before retirement. Wilfork only has about as much gas left in the tank as Tuck, so if that is their upgrade on the line, it puts a pretty short expiration date on the Raiders-D, probably no more than 2-3 years.

I stand corrected on my earlier post, Suh is meeting with the Raiders next week, per ESPN.

Suh's primary interest is money, his secondary is a winning team. He is kind of a match made in heavan for the Raiders right now. I really think that after 30 years of suck, the stars are starting to align for Oakland. There is currently little to no industry buzz about what is happening in Miami. No one outside of Hurricane country thinks the 'Fins are about to turn a corner. I see Suh in silver and black unless the 'Fins go into psycho money tossing mode and I suspect they have learned their lesson about that in recent years.

Jacoby Jones released and signs with other team. Brandon Marshall traded.

What are the Niners doing? Signing bargain basement Jerome Simpson....never even heard of the guy.

They're reluctant to make a splash it seems. Andre Johnson is going to be released, thoughts on he being a good addition? NO MORE Anquan Boldin body doubles. Team needs a Jacoby Jones speed receiver.

Jerome Simpson is a 2nd round draft bust by the Bengals. He's a really fast, athletic WR who can't run routes well and/or understand the complexity of a modern NFL offense. He hardly ever saw the field for Cincinnati ( 27 games in three seasons) before he became a free agent and they let him walk. He signed with Minn I believe, and did nothing. Now he'll do nothing in Santa Clara. He loves him some weed though, and has multiple arrests for it. I think he was suspended all last season as a result of it.

Damn... the 9ers really did steal the Raiders' dysfunction: http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/niners-owner-rips-teams-signing-of-jerome-simpson/ar-AA9uWiq

Simpson did have that one spectacular play a few years back....

Jed backed the wrong ego. He's young though. And he looks like he has more sense than a Dumb 'n Dumber reject. We'll see if he wakes up one day, soon I hope, and realizes he has no clothes on.

:laughing That's a rather contradictory statement....

Raiders haven't had nearly the drama that the 9ers have had, they moved fwd actually hiring a decent coach, they've trimmed some fat, and so far, they appear to be moving ahead from a dark period that would test even the most loyal fans. And just because I can, I'll remind you that Prince Davis said that to Harbaugh just before the Raiders beat the 9ers.... :teeth

Had to happen, but... FUCK.

Crazy offseason so far.
