Kinda bummed the Raiders lost Latavius Murray....

I was surprised, I have been saying that dude is legit since DMC first got hurt. The Raiders are fit to come out bombing with both barrels this year too. He must have been hard set on a payday in order to head to Minnesota.

I think it's being played that good RB's are available in the draft into the late rounds (even Jalen Richard was undrafted), so I don't think it's the end of the world. Minnesota probably offered a few more dollars to soften the blow of Peterson's departure and show their fan base they care about winning....

I like the chatter about Marshawn wanting to play again (for the Raiders, especially), I would actually rather see him in Silver & Black than Peterson, Lynch has a "swagger" to him.

That gold grilled mutant is the living spirit of, "da Town." I can't believe he didn't go directly to them after Seattle. I assume the paperwork got in the way.

quote:

Because Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch retired — and because the Seahawks placed him on the reserve/retired list — he remains under contract with Seattle. Before he could play for the Raiders, the Seahawks would have to release him or trade him.

I actually like this punter King dude: his response to Lynch's tweet re: hanging up cleats:

With Vegas only being 4 hours or so from LA, can we consider this the 3rd LA team?

TBH, I see no downside for Oakland, and as Santa Clara has learned, sometimes whoring out to an NFL team has some unintended consequences.

Viva Las Vegas Raiders! :party

I'm torn. Don't know if I should go back to just watching college ball or if I should continue to cheer for the Raiders.

31-1 vote for Raiders to LV.

Im shocked really. Thought more than 1 owner would oppose it, but then I read that each owner will get about $50m a piece from the Raiders in relocation money. Hard to say no to a free $50 million dollars. Even if the Raiders tank in Las Vegas, the other owners got their $$.

I like how the NFL only is charging the Raiders $350 million for a stupid 'relocation' fee. Rams and Chargers were hit with $500 million each.

My hopes; That Adelson guy will sue and prevent the building of the stadium, Oakland tells them to find another place to play for 3 years while the stadium in LV is being built, and after a year of novelty, that attendance and tv ratings for Raiders plummets. Oh and I hope the city can keep the Oakland Raiders name.

I'm a Niner fan and think the city of Oakland will suffer for it. Only benefit is the A's build at Howard Terminal and the current location becomes a great downtown restuarant shopping area. Oakland needs jobs, not less of them.

So, my favorite part was Miami with a petty, spiteful, AFC rival from the 1970's, "FUCK YO COUCH!" vote. :laughing

That kind of hate is what matures into some good football if they can sustain it for another 30 years. :laughing

after reading some, it seems the dolphins owner is very much against public funding of stadiums. that's what he's claiming why he voted that way.

for that I'd :thumbup

but even if for FUCK YO COUCH, :thumbup

I don't know, I heard they interviewed him off the record in the bathroom and he snorted coke of a hookers tits, screamed "14-0, MOTHERFUCKERS!" and then collapsed in a sobbing heap on the men's room floor.

Well his actual reasoning was a team moving from a top 10 market to, like, #40 is a bad idea.

Davis is neglecting the long game for short term returns. He will get a nice stadium and a bump for the first couple of years but I don't see the Vegas market being big enough to support the NFL.

He could have sliced off a minority stake in the team to secure enough private financing to get something done in Oakland, there is more than enough money in the Bay Area to make that happen. Even with a slice taken out, overall I feel he would have come out ahead over this.

Oh well, not my money anyway.

This is really a big "F-U" by the NFL, they know that it's not the fans in the seats that butter the bread, it's the corporate partners.

Oakland will come out ahead a few years down the road. Libby will come out of this OK. The A's will come out of this ok. If the Raiders keep trending up, there will be people in the stands in Vegas, and old die hard East Bay fans will buy the NFL game packages to watch, with the commercials from said corporate partners, and life will go on. When they tear down the Mausoleum I miss it more for the Day on the Green concerts of yore... :laughing

As I've said before, I've been to more Cal games the last few years than Raider games, and with hi-def TV's, sports bars, NFL network replays, my life will go on as well. The stadium experience for NFL football isn't really worth the expense and effort.... :dunno
