Dark roasted coffee has less caffeine than light roast Coffee, is less acidic and easier on the stomach.

There are 30 participants and 1600 posts in our private Policonversation and it has been civilized, insightful and wise. PoliSink 2.0 is gonna rock
I believe this and I hope we all do better than we did before.

I mean... there were some members I got into some extremely heated arguments and said things that were barely within the TOS, sometimes not and I was fine saying what I said and taking my ban. I don't wanna operate that again. And I messaged them privately to apologize and bury the hatchet.

I really hope others feel the same. Because if we're just going to do what we did before, there's no point. That doesn't seem to be the vibe of this thread which is a good thing.

the problem is accepting different view points with out getting butt hurt. If you're getting butt hurt over politics you're in for a bumpy ride.
I've been part of the poo flinging and I'm not proud of it but I understand when someone feels a line has been crossed they lash out and I'll endeavor to try to bring my view point in to play with out insulting the other party.

Edit: Kurosaki is an alien space frog:twofinger

lol, your definition of ‘bury the hatchet’ and mine are very different. on another note, impulse control is a critical survival skill for moto riders. seeing a lack of it makes me seriously nervous for their future wellbeing in non-keyboard related circumstances.

"Bury the hatchet" is really misunderstood. Depends; 1.) Metaphorically, 2.) In someone's noggin or 3.) Between their shoulder blades?

Removing the official response from the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES from a CELEBRITY RIP thread is an interesting choice to make. Those were HIS words on the death of an icon... not mine! Was his statement political, or was it pop culture? Who's the offender here, him or me? I could see the follow-up comments being removed, but choosing to remove OUR sitting president's stand-alone comments on a major celebrity's death is a new one on me... how disrespectful to the office. To actually say "the president's comments don't belong in a celebrity RIP thread" is f'in crazy talk. I've never heard of that rule before. Welcome to bizarro world. :laughing

Because our sitting president cannot be quoted publicly is why he 2.0 poll sink is so welcome in my world.

It is because this is not a political forum, but Budman understood (a while back) that some on here wanted to talk politics. The political threads (or posts) have generated some not so friendly banter that most on here did not want to read. If it is a thread of just political banter, then it was easy to not click on that thread (hence the beginnings of the Pol-Sink). If a "regular" thread went a little off topic, it seemed some would then inject the political side of things and derail the thread. This was a lot harder to ignore. I applaud Budman and the Mods for recognizing that and crating a place that could both be ignored by the people who did not want that and still have that place for people who wanted the political banter. IMHO the political banter has a place, just in an area that (if one does not want to see it) can be ignored.

No matter how you look at it, any quote from any president can be consider political and in this day and age can derail a thread.

It was true, it was distasteful and 100% political. 3rd notch on your PTrap belt.

The follow up statement did not leave me with high hopes for P II.

As @Racinfrk said such posts usually door openers to additional P-drivel. In this case it ate up time from 2 mods.

Future stickied threads in PS Sink 2 no discussion allowed:
Scotus decisions
Truth Social Post of the Day

Maybe we need Poli Sink buddies to keep us safe. PM your response to a like minded but gentler soul? It gets a thumb up or a thumb down.

There are a couple posters here that I don't believe people even read their responses, they see the name and go into auto opposition. We live in unusual times where tolerance has all but disappeared. I see someone defending something so fundamentally wrong and it takes a lot of strength to ask why instead of WTF Dude what is wrong with you?

To be fair, my follow-up response was not political at all. I would have said the same thing about any person that is disgusting enough to have posted what that guy did. There really wasn't anything political about the discussion. One slimy person posted something really slimy and people reacted.

I'm a huge Rob Reiner fan... that statement went way beyond politics to me. I realize it's awkward.
