Triumples Triple Failure...

"Sorry, saying you have a degree and then not explaining sufficiently why or showing me an example doesn't do crap... for anybody." Squirrls

Now after reading through this entire thread, reading the arguments, the backlashes and intrigue, it brings me all back to this very poignent statement you YOURSELF made Squirrls.^^^

It appears to me that this is exactly what you did in the very first post you made.

In the long run, this next statement must be made very clear to you!

"Drugs are bad....mmmmkay"

brash

mmm lol thought I already stated I was wrong... but thanks for repeating what is already common knowledge.

I've been LMAO!!!!... and I've only read 1 page.

I have a hard time listening to someone who starts every sentence with; "My Dad said...."

How old are you btw?

would it make you happier if i calle dhim Mike Grundvig?

Dude, look, he is my dad, that is just a title.. .and it's easier to say my dad the engineer than Michael A. Grundvig the engineer. ok? if I gave a name then it might make you think he is of importance. he isn't. I don't even tlak to my dad usually. The only reason I was is because he rode bikes forever and a day and in 6 days I'm moving away. I don't talk to him because he only uses me to ride dirtbikes with. He shows no interest in anything else I do. I don't have a relationship with my "dad". I only call him that as a curtosey for taking care of me the past 20 years. so don't think I think that my dad is super man, he isn't. he just knows more than me. stated one thing from what info he was given, which was somewhat accurate. i read up. they do vibrate a lot which if not fixed would cause problems. however they can get that fixed... so it wasnt' like he even was really wrong...

again, I haven't taken offense to anybody. I am playing just as much as the next guy. arguing is fun for me. it usually is more fun when I don't start out screwing something up, but oh well, I'll take what I can get. I AM NOT OFFENDED OR MAD OR STEAMED. nor have I been in any part of this thread.

If he's an engineer, ask him how easy it is to prove a negative (3 cyl engines are not bad).

Instead of coming online and stating: "He's an engineer, and he showed me something and they are bad", why don't you elucidate on the evidence he showed you, and why the evidence made them "bad", so we can address the points he provided you?

That makes a little more sense, doesn't it?

they do vibrate a lot... he was right. maybe its not as severe as he thought, but it doesn't change the fact that he was correct to a certain degree. he is just somewhat misinformed with motorcycle engines, mmk? :) the vibration is just corrected by adding weights or somtehing... i'll pull the page up again and give you the exact term if need be

Squirrls, back away from the keyboard. Cool down...realize that at this particular moment in time, we are all bored and you are the only amusement we have at this juncture in the time continuum.

brash

...

lol

ok... but umm... backing away from the keyboard won't make me calmer bro... I'm already pretty calm and continue ignoring my posts about how it doens't piss me off... doesn't piss me off... but nice try?

*edit

let me make that literate

continuing to ignore my comments on how I'm not pissed off won't piss me off.

I don't know about that, but really, I wouldn't care... maybe your dad could beat my dad up and then have hiim tell my dad to actually treat me like a son

squirrls-

I'm not going to beat up on you... I'd just like to give you a little advice;

1. I gather that you are 20 years old from your statements.
2. You say that you rarely talk to your Dad.
3. You sound rather bitter because "he has no interest in your life, besides going dirt-bike riding".
4. He's taken care of you for 20 years.

You are BLESSED to have a Dad.
Some peoples Dad's are dead before the kid could walk.
Some people never get to know their Dads, because their Mom married an asshole and after the marriage failed- they (a-hole dad) never showed their face again.
Whatever the reason he takes you dirt riding, just be happy that he took you. He could have very EASILY gone alone or with someone else.
He's taken care of you for 20 years- maybe he loves you....?
He tries to impart knowlegde to you via conversations........ some guys would give their left nut to have ANY kind of relationship with their Dad- don't throw yours away.

Try to get over whatever anger you have toward your Dad and enjoy the time you have left with him.

I'll STFU now.

Ummmm...so I had a three cylinder Geo Metro. :blush It was pretty rattly and it squeaked. Nothing like opening up the hood of your car and seeing straight through to the ground--you don't see that in many cars today. I used to keep the tool box strapped in the engine compartment. I'm pretty sure it was a one-wheel drive also. There was this other guy in Oakland who drove one, too, and when we saw each other he'd role down his window and holler at me while he was laughing, "NIIIIIIICE RIIIIIIDE!" Good times... :laughing

see, that is an answer

btw, my panties are't in a bunch. I get a rise out of this kind of crap. as soon as I get up from this thread, I'll be on my merry way. I'll continue posting. I'll continue just fine w/ no hate or anything towards anybody. I think its fun. The fault is my own and I know that. I didn't inform my dad well enough and in my own ignorance I posted what he told me w/o saying that I wanted evidence to show him he was wrong. It's myfault. I just got defensive (not panties in a knot) because they were bashing my dad and saying general statements that apply to people, not my dad.

Whatever man, as long as you changed that avatar I am happy:laughing

Lefty, you're a righteous dude:thumbup

Squirrels, I had issues with my dad too. I can recommend an awesome therapist. PM me if interested.

Once you spend a little more time around here, your ideas about a lot of things will change. It's a good thing.

You may even-read this thread in a year and post an update:laughing

Life's a bitch, you dont' always get it right. But as long as you keep trying, there's hope you will (get it right). The only time you lose for sure is when you quit the game.

my dad can beat up your dad. he's not an engineer but he plays one on tv.

dude, you...well...I'm w/ xambit...you are just the best.

*edit* finally got to page 6...damn you saneman!!

Engineers always have their panties in a bunch because the mechanics make cuckolds of them

You dad is probably right though, those damn bmw k75's barely get 100k out of their engines

why? what do you mean? because I enjoy a good argument and everybody so far just bags on things they don't know w/o sufficient evidence and I prove to them how stupid they really are?

O.k., here is a GREAT idea! Why don't you offer up the "evidence" your dad gave you; instead of arguing with others to provide proof. You are the one who started this thread with the claims of 1 man, who doesn't even ride a motorcycle.

BTW, I've also owned a triumph in the past, and sold it with almost 50K on it. It had NO, (as in NONE) engine problems in the 50,000 miles of it's life before I got rid of it. Sounds like pretty solid engineering to me. :shhh
