Where did Gforce go.... thats my question.

Had it not been for him, I would never had found BARF.

hmmmm.... Enchanter has a problem i think... i'd love to talk to this guy offline( in person ) .. he closed all my threads,, and thinking about closing any threads that i posed in... how come he's not closing other threads but mine???there are 200 posts threads in group rides and people are chit chating there ( not my threads)

like i said..... i'd love to talk to him in person if he got issue... base on his refly to my posts.. he aint no guts to meet up in person and work things out the a MAN.. ( or at least PMs )
Enchanter... does it make you happier and younger when you closed my threads?

So, let's get this straight, you're calling the guy a chicken-shit for not meeting you in person, but you haven't even sent him a PM yet to request such a meeting? Why don't you try PMing him first? Or are you not man enough for that? :loser

hell yeah i like BARF and BARFers... i dont think he does, he took it personal..
he was pissed about someone crashed on my rides..

What else does Tim think? :rolleyes

You're reading quite a bit in; maybe you're right, maybe not. You're not going to find out by bitching, moaning and name calling. I can think of exactly zero examples on this board where that has helped to work something out.

I haven't been following your whole history with Tim (sorry, don't care that much), but in "the thread that started all this" the following happened:

TeeSnob posted a group ride. Normal time & place stuff.

Someone said it was going to rain. Someone else thought everybody was nuts for wanting to ride in a storm.

Then there was a bunch of banter about the coffee place, bikes that might or might not be ready, riders that might pussy out and so on. Kind of normal off-topic bullshit that end up in a lot of group ride threads.

Enchanter told everybody to cut out the chit-chat or he'd close the thread. He told; he didn't ask. Is that the issue?

TeeSnob replied, reiterating there would be a ride and then railing on Enchanter. Whined, called names. May have had valid points; raised them in an immature, confrontational fashion.

Enchanter responded with incredulity, refuted a point or two, stated his rationale and closed the thread.

OK, so, getting back to Enchanter trying to keep the thread on topic: His request is consistent with how he moderates the Crash Analysis forum. The charter for that forum is narrowly defined. Tim's request in this case wasn't consistent with how the Group Rides forums has been moderated up until now. Is that wrong?

Group Rides is about as bad as the Sink for threads going sideways. In some threads, the signal to noise ratio is pretty bad. If a forum that purports to be about a certain topic is to help people find things they're interested in, someone needs to periodically remind the natives to stay on track. If mods didn't do that, all forums would eventually become the Sink.

So, what I see is Tim told y'all to keep the thread on topic. TeeSnob came on pretty strong in response. Tim closed the thread and probably did TeeSnob a favor, instead of letting him get a time-out.

Then, with one post, Highway9Rider created an 8 page thread (at the moment) about Enchanter. I think Tim probably has rational reasons for doing what he did. I think it might be more productive to try to find out what those are, if you really want to know. Or you could just do what he toldja and call it a day.

If Enchanter had Chuck Norris in a MSF class, Chuck would STFU.:teeth

Chuck Norris was a member of BARF and his tears cures cancer...

Unfortunately, Enchanter did make him cry but banned him before the cure was found and caused the world to suffer..

Bad, Enchanter, Bad...

But Tim(Enchanter) has the happy Bunny as an avatar..How bad of a dood can he be?He is prolly a softee:party:ride

Unless you are a mind reader, it is a bit of a reach to say what another person's intentions are. How is the above remark any less baiting, esp. when it ends off with a threat to ban? This kind of response does more harm than good to the moderators' reputation.

Also shockingly, there is no guideline or mention in the FAQ about reporting moderators, making comments or complaints, nor is there any simple way for newer members to tell who is higher up on the mod food chain. I can see how people might be confused trying to figure out the difference between an admin and a mod, a mod vs. mod alumni, etc.

It's much easier to just start a thread and flame on. It's also clear to see that threads such as these get a more immediate response from mods and other users with similar gripes and/or cheerleading than sending a formal complaint type of PM to a single mod.

So if you guys want this stuff kept off the board then consider improving the current (non-existent) system. Add a section to the Barf FAQ, give us a who's who or an org chart for the mods, shut down threads like this immediately and take the discussion to PM's before it turns into three pages of flame fodder.

P.S. For the record I am a fan of Enchanter and I also acknowledge that his mod style is to not put up with any bullshit from new or seasoned users.

Anti as far as I know the rule of thumb has always been the same for everyone, whether they are mod, super-mod, or the newest member on the board. Don't flame, don't act like an ass. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with them, if you aren't comfortable doing that, contact Budman. This does not come from me as a Mod, this has always been made explicit by Budman since day one of him taking over the board and for the entire time I've been here, I've never felt there was anything ambiguous or unclear about it.
