Any (4-wheel) Overland types in here?

Not many vans huh

The new nissan nv200/300 are awesome little campervans

I just tested the fj40 I just finished building on Cadillac hill in the rubicon, down to Rubicon springs. Fun stuff. Did it without missing a beat.

This crowd in particular is more about hitting the trails than #vanlife and the rigs reflect that.

I was just watching that video about the Nissan Recon. That thing is badass, but as the video shows, not exactly “trail-rated”.

Pretty cool! It didn't do that bad at all...

Wow!!!

Those are all great pictures. They are really inspiring me to get out there. I have a 2004 Nissan Des(s)ert Runner with 35K miles. It's been sitting in my garage for 14 years, until the Mustang took it's place. I just had an ARE Shell and Bedrug installed. I would like to go to some of the Overland meets, so that I may learn a thing or two.

Awesome! I remember when you picked it up, maybe a year or two ago? More info pls. :)

The two groups most active in the overland scene (monthly meets and/or trail runs) in the Bay Area is:

https://www.overlandbound.com/ and http://trail.team

I'm involved in both.

Next Trail.Team meet is probably going to be August, since we're going to be camping in Tahoe in July.

Next meetup for OB is actually next Monday, but that's a drive-in meet and looks like turn-out is gonna be less than a dozen rigs and probably not gonna be the chattiest meet ever. You're welcome to come though and put that bedrug to use.

Whoda thunk that an #oldman camper shell build makes for a pretty decent drive-in movie rig. :laughing

One thing that I really liked in my Jeep is that you can turn rear seat backward for just that occasion.

I see you bring the camera and R/C car, how about mtb/dirt bikes?

Scorpio-

Thank you for the fantastic links. Those guys have some amazing trip reports. I will be spending a great deal of time on those sites.

BTW- You have a beautiful rig. Wow!!!

Nah man, I got some joint issues that makes it painful for either of those activities. I'm actually gonna end up selling my KTM 990ADV here pretty soon.

Thanks dude!

Also if you or anybody else is interested, there's an Overland Bound meet at Epidemic Ales in Concord next Saturday (23rd) at 12PM. I'm like 80% sure I'll be there.

Going to leave this link here.

Oh yea I've been following Hodakaguy for a while. I don't actually know what he does for a living but he has nice things. It's kinda funny though because no matter what forum I go to (ADV, T3G, OB, etc.) Hodaka has an account and a separate build thread in there, dunno how he keeps track of them all. But him and MesoJDM are my "if I only had money" inspirations. :rofl
