BARF Militia

Does anyone know of a FFL licensed person or place I could use for an online purchase. I'm finding some good prices on HK P2000s, but they're out of state.

That's awesome. I really like all the Glocks I've shot.

I'm about 6'2" and 210 and I still think a full size Glock 21 is too big for CCW. Maybe if I got a fanny pack.

I don't really know how much I'd be carrying anyway, so I might just start out with a full size Glock and practice alot at the range. The compact Glock .40SW I shot a few weekends ago left my pinky finger and palm numb for the rest of the day (that was about 50 rounds, after shooting 25 rounds with a full size Kimber). Because of that, I highly doubt I'd end up using a compact/sub-compact gun at the range much.

Ah, decisions.

Yep, that's why I went with the 19 - possibly small enough to carry, but big enough to be fun to shoot.

Yep - Rob Blank, of RMB Enterprises, in Milpitas. His contact info is here:

Tell him Mike Saldivar referred you. One thing I like about him - since he's not a regular "gun store," you're not "competing" with him when you buy from the Internet and transfer through him. He just charges his fee ($40, I think) plus the mandatory fees.

Oh if you haven't done one of these before, how it works is - you make your online purchase, the seller will give you contact info, you take that to Rob, he mails a signed FFL to the seller. The seller mails the gun to Rob, you then go and do all the paperwork, then come back 10 days later and get the gun.
Just make sure that the exact model number you're buying is on the CA approved list. I don't know if there's any variants, but just make sure.

I bought mine at Traders in San Leandro for $799 not too long ago... :teeth:thumbup

Well shit.

I had my shooting qualification today (2x per year)

Missed Expert by 7 points :(

Daytime: 266/300
Nighttime: 105/120

Standard handgun qualification w/ Glock 22 .40cal

I bet I'm a crappy shot compared to the rest of the Militia.

not bad scoring at all, esp on the night course.

*sigh* I had qualified 296/300 in the Reserve Academy, but that was years ago. I suck now, esp with other people's brand new guns...|:p

Right Bill? :teeth

For those of you who missed ScorpioVI's 10th Street Range invite last night. Luckily you guys and gals didn't show up. It was a full house. After the PS2 for the first hour and Alan scaring away the only customer (some 14 year old who wanted to shoot his pellet gun) we closed the doors and did our own "safe" enforced events.

Doesn't look like I am able to post the rest of the pictures.

I was just about to ask - why no pics of the targets?

How'd the action shooting go, drawing & firing and all that?

Why no pics of the targets? They took pity on me. :twofinger I was shooting like crap with my own gun. Last couple strings were better, but man was I off last night. Did get 10+ shots in a half dollar size hole, but that was the exception that proved my rule yesterday for accuracy. Shot both Alan's and Ron's kimbers much better than my own Springfield.

Also determiend that my Benelli M1 doesn't cycle low recoil rounds all that well. Testing the low recoilers for newbies when the time comes.

Sorry guys. I am not able to post the rest of the pictures. Something wrong with the barfer server.

Oh Scorp might host the vid of Bill rapid firing the Benelli

Hey SKS owners..I have a sweet new stock to replace the old battered one..and I need to separate the gas tube from the handguard. Ideas? Will prying it do?

Hmm, seems like just yesterday you were posting crap like this:

I've learned to think of things analytically. When you have a problem, you can't just run into it, you have to approach it from several different sides, but if you break it down to its simplest elements, you can almost always find a solution.

So much for practical application, huh? :twofinger

HAAAAA :twofinger

I removed it, looked at it from every angle, didn't see any pins, tried pulling it up, tried screwdrivers, tried a wedge, tried pliers, tried looking for a naked gas tube online :laughing

i so wanted to go to the 10st range night, but i was FUCKING BROKE, like 300 bucks in debt and no cash in my pocket/no gas/no cigarettes and no idea when im getting paid broke,. that sucks

so i just sat home and reloaded ammo from what supplies i had laying around

stripped down the operator for cleaning, man is this barrel copper fouled. Dont think it contributed to my accuracy problem, but damn its taking a looonnnnggg time to clean....

Somwhere north of 5000 rounds through this barrel so far.
