BARF Militia

I've narrowed it down to 9mm and 380 and now need to go rent them and see how I like them. I would prefer to avoid DAO but I'll make an exception if it's great (I'm looking at you Boberg).

- P938 (FIL has one, like it)
- P238 (FIL has one, like it)
- Kahr (not sure which ones to try yet)
- Kimber Ultra RCP II
- Glock 42 (liked it, was accurate)
- Shield (thought I'd like it, was meh, same bad trigger as the fullsizers even with an Apex kit)

If I'm going DAO
- Kimber Solo (not sure what to make of the initial bad reports)
- Boberg (want to ship to MN Roman?)
- LCR 9mm

Lots to look at and shoot - looking forward to trying them all out. Next up is the holster...

If this is to be carried at all, the trigger shouldn't be too good, that's what I think with all the handling a carry gun gets.

Totally valid point, Sonny (hey man! :wave).

I don't want something that will accidentally go off under extreme pressure. So no light triggers. I'm not a DA fan generally and think a fine striker fired trigger would work great. While I like the small Sigs, I'm worried about the fine motor skills needed to work the safety.

But I'm open to suggestions since this is all knew to me...

AR Wrench I can borrow this weekend?

I think my CMMG Blackout barrel is too tight, having feeding issues with .308 lead. Did some research and there was a run of tight CMMG barrels. I need to strip the upper and send the barrel back to have it checked out.

I should have bought a wrench when I order my vise block and not gonna find one locally this weekend, at least I don't think I'd find one. Sooner I send it out the sooner I get it back.

I'm in Danville and work in Fremont.

Edit: Guns Fishing Other Stuff is on my way home tomorrow, hopefully they have one.

I did the math and ended up with 2 different guns, the Karh CM9 and the Glock 42. The CM9 has a long, long travel trigger, outside of being a bit harder to handle than the G42, it's not bad, but the G42 blows the CM9 out of the water, it's a smooth, accurate weapon with a mild kick. The G42 can be put in a front or back pocket. One should note these small guns are for getting one out of a situation, not further into one.

I also like the Glock 26 9mm, it's just slightly bigger than the other 2 but offers a lot more muscle and ease of handleing as well as a few more rounds if needed, its much easier to handle than the Karh and as accurate as many full size autos.

Ah. This is what led me to believe it was a recent purchase heh.

Slept in till 10, figured I'd missed registrations and shit and ended up bumming around the house doing homework all day :(

(seriously, it sucked. I've left the house once today to hit Chipotle for a late lunch around 3. That was it.)
