Slacker. :twofinger

I got there just before 8 and went through a few classes. I thought there were too many people for the material being offered and it was more of a social event with guns than a serious training event.

Glad you came out. I am not going agains from what you are saying but they were more surprised on how much more folks brought rifles than pistols.

Just like any open event you don't know what is coming in the door. Just to clarify the event was for the Charity and the training outfit only offered a real basic clinic and as you probably tell they were people there that had little to no experience in firearms handling.

If you want a more serious training then I suggest taking a full day course from a reputable company.

Just for FYI the event raise over $3500 to our Veterans.

Thanks

As a veteran of Active Army service from 1976 to 1986, and a current Army Reservist from 2005 to present, with a tour in Afghanistan, I appreciate the WWP and what they do tremendously.

My concern, if you want to call it that, was the student/instructor ratio was too lopsided and the classes too short for good training.

Todd and company, and the other staff and vendors did the best job possible given the circumstances, I'm not beating on them. The event was too popular, is all. I'm glad the WWP did so well.

I'd take another class with them, just with fewer students. I'd also bring more appropriate gear. :teeth

So my Dad, 61, is now somewhat into guns cuz of me BUT he hates all the laws and rules. Wants to buy a little 380 and just 'put it in my pocket'. Its an argument I cant win regarding how dumb some of the Cali laws are.

That said, he did have an interesting question about being given a pile guns from a father or grandfather, is he supposed to register them? Of course my answer was yes BUT then it got me thinking, would I? Would you?

Some things are best discussed in an online forum, some things shouldn't be discussed, period.

This is a completely HYPOTHETICAL question, right?

Apple... Tree...

lame insults aside, say you're like 60 years old, are you supposed to stay up on these ever changing gun laws? One could have inherited a bunch of rifles and one day hit the range, on the way home get pulled over and a cop sees them, gets freaked out and finds they are not registered to anyone.

Doesn't matter if they're not registered. If they're that old they're C&Rs almost certainly. Don't bother, don't worry about it, but for fuck's sake don't sell/donate/get rid of them.
