BARF Militia

Put together a blow-out kit for the range.

I always had some IBDs, QuickClot, and a CAT tourniquet in the range bag along with booboo kit but decided to expand the kit last month. Ended up buying a Voodoo Tactical M3 bag since it was on sale. This will mainly be living inside my truck, so it's readily available from home/work/wherever I may be. Plan on bringing it with me to range duty nights and have it prominently displayed.

I've got something similar for hunting – but smaller (weight issues). I should keep something on that scale in the truck.

Kind of off topic – but back in the day when I worked for Uncle Sugar; I use to carry a woman’s sanitary device to plug bullet holes (I was in civilian clothes and it was small and easy to conceal). Now I’m seeing more of these penetrating would applicators, I’m going to add this as well. I think QuickClot has someting similar...

The latest USAISR CoTTTC guideline (as of 2014) seem to indicate they prefer Combat Gauze (QuickClot) as the preferred option.

http://usaisr.amedd.army.mil/pdfs/TCCC_Guidelines_140602.pdf

b. For compressible hemorrhage not amenable to tourniquet use or as an adjunct to tourniquet removal (if evacuation time is anticipated to be longer than two hours), use Combat Gauze as the CoTCCC hemostatic dressing of choice. Celox Gauze and ChitoGauze may also be used if Combat Gauze is not available. Hemostatic dressings should be applied with at least 3 minutes of direct pressure.

I remember reading a thread about this way back where a corpsman explained that they can always push the sponge in deeper, but you can't do that with the granular stuff.

That (bold) makes sense - I could have sworn there was an applicator that was more sponge-like (vs granular injector) design for bullet wounds - but I could not find it quickly on the interwebs. Most of the hunting trips I've been on would place medical assistance over three hours - but I always carry combat gauze and non-clotting gauze bandages.

got my upper today. picatinny rails are sharp as fuck too. sliced my fingernail in half and got blood everywhere installing the kx5 w/o a vise

thanks. its a 7" barrel from psa. the handguard is psa brand QR (aka keymod). cant wait to shoot this mini boomstick. fireballs 4 daze

Yea I bet it's a real fire breather.

Great for home defense because you don't need a flashlight any more.

Part of me thinks that once the anti gunners get what they want and the California gun laws get expanded to the rest of the nation, there will be sufficient lash back the pendulum will swing in the opposite direction for the entire nation. But it'll be a long and painful process if it happens.

It'll be a whole generation of people born into the new era. I can't see a swing back around, since the youth of tomorrow won't know what theyre missing. They'll learn about the mass shootings and how much safer they are now and that'll be it.

We can also expect similar cases to all those 2A ones the Court refused to hear going through, once the new Justice is seated. I see a very grim future for us.

I really dislike the Republican platform, but with the polarization of our parties, a Democrat-appointed Justice scares me. And the Republicans are driving themselves into national oblivion. With the ridiculous crop of candidates they're teotting out, we're essentially guaranteed a D executive. Which means a potentially 7-2 Supreme Court coming our way as the other ancient conservative justices retire or die. Terrifying from a 2A perspective.

So which do you think has a higher likelihood of happening first?

1. Pro gay-rights, pro-choice Republican pro-2A platform

2. Pro 2A Democrat platform

Jeez, they both sound impossible.

That calguns quote is applicable here: "The problem with being a gun rights advocate is that the left hates guns and the right hates rights."

We're in a funny kind of pickle. The the overriding mantra from the other side is universal disarmament. They don't even want the police armed. Am I to vote for an absolute turd like Trump or Cruz just because I don't want to lose any ground on one issue? Do I knowingly toss that right to the wolves by voting for the guy who I agree with on almost everything BUT 2A?

Scalia passing should be the green light for all the lower courts to move forward with 2A cases since they can now squash the right without any fear of a SC reversal.

I'd much prefer the 1st, but I have a feeling a half assed version of the second is what we'll end up with.

Oh yeah, the first would be awesome.

What I see happening is an emboldened democrat platform where they figure they don't need to compromise on 2A because the republicans are so ridiculous. As long as Rs are foaming at the mouth over Mexicans, queers, and welfare leeches, the Ds have it easy. All they have to do is NOT be republicans.
