BARF Militia

I started out with a Sig 229 (.40) and loved everything about it. That was until I bought my first Glock, model 27 (also .40).

The Glock action just feels better to me. So I sold the 229 to my buddy and picked up another Glock, model 23.

I still admire the Sig 229, it's a high quality firearm, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I have both the 229 and Glock. If you come to the shoot and cue I'll bring them so you can shoot both.

I'd vote Glock just cause it's cheaper. It's what I keep under the pillow at night. Plus mags are way cheaper than sig mags which are STUPIDLY expensive.

If you want to step up to .45 I picked up a EAA Tangfolio Witness last year brand new for $400. I have a lot of handguns and it is currently my favorite non single action. Accurate, comfortable, great trigger, I just absolutely love the thing. Not sure if they have one in .40. It's basically a copy of the CZ, but nicer. :teeth

I find the SIG to be much more comfortable than the Glock, but for the money and for consistent trigger action I like my 23.

Nice bike btw. :thumbup

+1 I love my 23.
+2 best conceal and carry weapon I've ever owned.

Overall, the most formidable combat sidearm, IMO. I've heard individuals call the weapon *jerky* or hard to control, but from an isocoles platform or even in modified weaver during movement as long as you sling a tight combat grip, it is extrememly effective, even up to 45 yards.:cool

speaking of which I may be selling a couple 13 round mags, I just don't know what to do with them, I don't need ten of em.

Besides what good does high cap do for a plinker other than cool factor?

If you cant pu it down with ten you better sell it.:laughing :laughing

combat reload is one thing there are still rounds in the mag. but a plinker doesn't need that.

As long as you're doing a PPT within CA, the gun doesn't need to be on the CA DOJ roster of certified handguns.

Otherwise, out-of-state purchases must be on the roster.

Also private party purchases are exempt from the drop tests so if you buy something off of gunbroker it is also exempt from the drop test, a little something most people are unaware of. =)

Why exactly would a civilian need a silencer?:confused

Why not? They are common in Europe without any problems, as well as in most other states in the Union. Be nice to shoot without muffs or plugs. Plus it allows shooting on private land without annoying the neighbors. We can't shoot at the barn anymore because developments have come so close they call the rangers complaing about a war going on nearby. :laughing

but why what actual application would it serve? Okay I'll drop it.:teeth

Have you ever heard how loud a gunshot is? We have to wear earmuffs and/or plugs to keep the noise out. Why do you think we require mufflers on cars and motorcycles, and pass noise ordinances? It doesn't make sense that we aren't allowed to put mufflers on guns.

That's not accurate. In CA, it's considered PPT if both the seller and the buyer meet face-to-face for the transaction. So, if you're buying it used from out of state, it's not private-party. Even if you're buying it within the state, the firearm cannot be shipped to a FFL, as that is then a dealer sale, not PPT.

Yeah, it sucks.

So as not to alert the other squirrels.
must be BIG damn squirrels.:laughing

There are alot of applications that just don't seem reasonable to me for a civilian to have or own.

I'mma drop it again, because this is not a good conversation for me.:teeth

kthxbye,

just wanted to speak my peace on the g23
