Bah - I just left the gun show. I shoulda stayed home! Ammo deals weren't great, too many airsoft booths, and lots and lots of non-gun crap. Save your money and visit your local dealer.

BUT there was lots of AR stuff for those who might be interested...

I went to the one in march, and I felt the same too. I'm going to pass on going now.

I've found the Vallejo show to be much better than either the SF or SJ shows. Vallejo seems to have a much better ratio of firearms related items to jerky, jewelry and airsoft.

There is a reason that the Hi-Power was the British SAS's choice of handgun for the longest time :thumbup

Is yours made in Belgium or is it the later models that were made in Belgium but assembled in Portugal?

Sorry, haven't been checking the thread but its 100% Belgian(SP?). Funny it was my first handgun purchase about 18 years ago. I did a lot of research cuz I only wanted to ever buy "one" handgun so I wanted the best one I could find. Yeah right, one gun :rolleyes, sure...

'zackly. Now I'm looking for a Glock for my sweetheart and I found a used Kahr PM 9 on Calguns...
but at least I'm planning on selling off my old break-action Savage 12 gauge and a collector's Winchester model 94 30-30 lever action. So it all, um, evens out, yeah?

+1

I'm looking to sell a few of my knives so I can buy a Buckmark...

+1 I'm looking to marry a sugar momma who will buy me even more guns.

And a motorcycle or two.

One gun is all you need Bill. :thumbup

I need some advice ya'll. I have a Kimber Custom TLE II on order from my local shop. It's been about 1 week and some days since I put the deposit on it. Yesterday I called Kimber directly myself to inquire about the status of my gun and if they had any knowledge of it. I clearly stated to them that I was the buyer and not the dealer or the shop. They transferred me to my area representative, and told me it could come in anytime this month. I called Kimber my self thinking it would save the dealer the trouble of calling them. Ok, so today I call the shop wanting to see if they knew any inside track on the shipping status.

I get transferred to the guy that wrote up my transaction and he just goes off about how uncool it was for me to do call Kimber and he caught some trouble or something because of it. I'm like Wow, and I ask what happened? Told him I stated clearly to all I talked to at Kimber that I was just the buyer and not dealer, noone told me to fuck off or go away and were generally pretty pleasant on the phone. Obviously dude was pissed and tells me he's got half a mind to return my money and cancel the order. Now this shocks me as the customer, I didn't want to lose my head and tell him to fuck off so I just remained cool and explained to him that I was thinkin I'd save them the trouble of inquiring for me.

So I'm wondering why would he get in trouble for me calling the manufacturer myself? Was I really at fault and I should have known or what? Or should I say fuck him and just take him up on the refund offer? I think I got a pretty good deal on it, and don't really want to cancel the order and search for another one.
So WTF is going on and what should I do?

It is considered bad etiquette to go over your local representative (dealer) because manufactures regularly reviews their resellers on their customer service/performance and for something like you described the manufacture will question why a customer of XYZ is calling us. They will think that something is wrong with their reseller that they should have concerns about. Particularly on a their product line.

So to answer your question it is a big Yes that it is your fault in my perspective.

Sounds like the Kimber rep you spoke to did the good customer service thing when they talked to you, answering your questions as helpfully as they could and all, and then did the pro-active manufacturer thing, chewing out the dealer for not giving better customer service by keeping you informed of the status of your order.

But then the dealer crapped his pants and took it out on you. :laughing He should have just explained how you calling Kimber affected his relationship with the mfg.

Well, there's a possibility the call from Kimber may have gone to the store manager/owner, and the guy who sold him the pistol may caught a ration of sh!t, and may even have had his job threatened by said owner/mgr, all when he didn't even do anything wrong. Not saying what he did was right, but you know what happens with sh!t and a hill, right? :laughing

I would have callled the shop first and spoken to the guy who placed the order. If I wasn't able to get a straight answer, THEN I would have called the owwner/manager or the supplier.

Of course, that's probably my military experience coming through, chain of command and whatnot. :teeth

The salesman would probably appreciate a 6 pack, though. Beer has a way of letting bygones be bygones and fixing businesss relationships. :thumbup

Yeah, didn't jump on that though. It comes with the factory 24lb hammer spring and 16lb recoil spring. All the other springs are still cool in my pistol, so no real need for them. I've replaced the recoil and hammer springs on my PA-63 with Wolff springs, and it made the pistol such a joy to shoot. I'm hoping it'll improve the P6 as much.
