From what I saw, non of the Rugers came with a mount. There are only 4 screws on the top of the receiver and it's all flat. Are 3-9x40 better than 4x40? I would think it would be nice to change the zoom.

Size does matter.:rofl:rofl

Hmm, mine came in the box but that was like 20 years ago. :laughing They should be easy and cheap to get. The range on the Ruger is pretty limited so magnification more than 4x really isn't that much of a benefit. I run a 4x32 on mine and it works just fine.

RRR70- Yeah, I have a Remington LTR with a 10 power Super Sniper on it. It looks a bit unbalanced too. :teeth I have a Leupold 2.5-8 compact on my Kimber .308 and it's a perfect match. ;)

The rifle should come with the mount. You'll have to get dovetail rings for it. Then I'd go with a 4x32 scope, your choice of which one. Anything bigger looks really out of place on the compact rifle.

So you're saying my Mueller AGV 4-16x40 looks out of place?

I think it's great on the 22! :D

Oh no, that's not mine.
That will be mine in a week.

Now, I need another piece of advice. I've been looking for a scope for my future rifle. I know that I have to get the rail mount too. I found this set: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=370066711074&Category=31714&_trksid=p3907.m29
Is that worth buying or is it just another ebay POS?

This site has some good selection too: http://www.opticsplanet.net/riflescopes-below-100.html Anything anyone wants to recommend?
Thanks alot.
The mount will be in the box, I bought this scope, it works great!

What's a good local source for 380 ACP?
What ammo should I avoid?

I have the same question but for .22. Are the $10 for box of 550 deals any good?

Depends on what you're shooting. Most .22 rifes will shoot anything. My Ruger Mk III pistol will shoot anything (actually get better groupings with the Federal copper washed than I do with more expensive CCI Stingers). Then some higher end .22 pistols are pretty finicky about ammo. I know most Bobcats, Mosquitos, and P22's won't shoot the cheap stuff reliably.

I will be shooting a Ruger 10/22.

Congrats on getting th 10/22 Ruger. Keep hearing it's one of the better Semi-Autos. Accurate, reliable and good quality. Semi-Autos are great to get allot of practice.

The metal sights are excellent. With the brass tip - front sight and adjustable rear sights. Weaver scope mounts fits solid on 10/22.

None taken, first time I met her.

No idea about the get-up. My mum-n-law thought she was a dancer in a show or something. I just thought she was going for that japanese school girl thing.

Looked especially interesting when she was firing the M1A.

C'mon nobody? Bueller?
Guess I gotta run with it.

:twofinger So Alice in Wonderland got an M1A before MikeT?:twofinger

On a more serious note, anyone have experience with Kahr .45's? My pops is picking his up saturday or sunday
