BARF Militia

Welp, turns out it's a pain in the butt to get a UT driver's license, because of all the paperwork they require for proof of identity and residence, so I haven't been able to buy a gun yet. :(

But I did order a few of these from CDNN today: :banana

Glock 17/19/26 9mm 33rd Drop Free Mag New Factory
HiPower 9mm +2 15rd Mag New Mec-Gar
Glock 19/19SF 9mm 15rd Drop Free Mag New Factory

That sucks. You definitely need a DL before you can fill out that Form 4 for all those nifty NFA items you can now buy. :teeth

It's a glitch in the software. It happens to REALLY long threads. There's a couple of posts elsewhere on BARF that talk about it.

I think it has something to do with a post count for this thread. If you look at post count in threads list and number of posts when you open thread you'll see a difference of few dosen posts missing. :dunno

That would be my guess.

Anyone know the closest, to me(Oakland) place to do a private party transfer? I wasted a bunch of time yesterday going to the Old West Gun Room in EL Cerrito. I don't think that guy wants to work very much. I called him the day before to confirm that he did them and his reply was "The state says I have to" So I tell him I'll be in the next day. The seller and I coordinate our schedules and get there and he claims his computer isn't talking to the state today.:wtf Does that sound like BS? If he doesn't want to do it wouldn't it be easier for all parties involved to tell me upfront?

Yeah, that guy sucks. Went in there about 8 years ago to buy a handgun. I had money and was ready to buy, but he wouldn't give me the freakin time of day, just talking shit with a couple buddies. After about 15 minutes I just left.

Best place to do transfers is Irvington Arms in Fremont. Never have a problem there and they are always happy to do them. Frick, I drive all the way from Fairfield to do them there.

there's targetmaster's in milpitas, they charge $35, and will probably take you about 45mins to hour to complete. Plus when you pickup, the range is right there!! :teeth

they are also open from 10am to 12 midnight monday-friday and sunday 10am-10pm. I think they only do PPT's until 10pm, i would call and ask.

Is it a Utah thing or the new federal rules?

Just got back from my Utah CCW class. Very cool. Great class and learned a lot of interesting tid-bits of information.

Also nice meeting Masameet and Ratters' cigar forum buddy. :D

If I order ammo online, will it be delivered to San Francisco address?

Yeah, that Utah CCW class was well worth it. Both Ed and John gave me grip advice. And uhmeebuh, I now understand what causes flinching, as John demonstrated it to me by opening and closing his fist. Basically, he said, the shooting hand is grabbing the pistol instead of the index finger pulling the trigger.

John also recently returned to riding, having put 600 miles on his 650R so far. He knows about BARF now but don't know if he'll be onboard here. Also invited him to tomorrow's cone practice. He provides 1-on-1 sessions along with group classes and I'll probably take an hour session with him sometime soon.

Great meeting you too, Wilit and Will2k.

I think it's just Utah - to get a license you need two forms of ID, proof of citizenship, and two things that show residence (bills, registration, etc).

To register a car, you need the title, a safety inspection, a VIN inspection, proof of insurance, and I think there was something else.

Yeah, Jeff told me about the class Thursday. Would have loved to have taken the class but just couldn't get away today due to the doggy. Glad you guys had a great time. :thumbup

Congrats on the Utah CCW class, y'all! I took it back in April, and my permit just came in the mail last week. :teeth

I must be missing something because the grip and my flinch seem unrelated to me... I've been working on the flinch (which is just me anticipating the shot) vs my accuracy going down due to an improper grip/trigger squeeze.

What's the difference? Or is it just semantics?

Maybe you're flinching because you're afraid of the gun? :twofinger

Well, it is a .22.......... :later

:p

Yeah, the .40 and I had some complications with the hard trigger pull at first. Like the first 3 going into the dirt. :|

Just squeezing so hard, I had to adjust my grip.

I got it kinda figured after that.
