Calm down there guy. The M16 is a decent weapon and so is the SKS.

Yeah, there's obviously a reason a 1963 concept is still in use in 2004 with only a few minor changes. A lot of people prefer the M16 (like John Kerry :twofinger), some like M14s, some like AKs..I'd just like to say that from second-hand experience, a Simonov carbine is not a bad weapon to have when shit hits the fan. What are your other options of CA-legal semi-auto rifle with a decent caliber under $300? Pretty much the Mini-30, right? Beats fighting the revolution with a Mosin Nagant :laughing

And my AR15 has been 100% minus a blown primer from some crappy S&B ammo. And it is an Oly fankengun.

My boss received about 1000 rounds of ammo at work today, via FedEx. .223, 7.65, 30/06, etc. One large crate was stenciled with love from Russia. (the 7.65 box).

God, I love this country. Seriously!

Well, picked up the SKS today. Wood is kinda rough but the metal is perfect. Dripping with cosmoline though so I gotta start cleaning now if I'm bringing it tomorrow. Here is a pic of it next to my russian. It is the one on the left:

A RAS for the AK. Now that is dizzope. :D I was always wondering how I was going to pop a surefire on the MAK.

Man, your setup is pretty sweet. I think I may do that with my other MAK 90. That grip was great.

Got a question for y'all....

What have you heard or experienced first-hand about the Czech-made CZ-75 pistols? From what I can tell, it's a really nice-looking semi with the typical E-Bloc gun quality. If you were getting into shooting, would you spend $400 on the 75B in 9mm Luger?

I thought you had no money? :laughing The CZs are great pistols. I saw the Trader's ad and was tempted as I don't have one yet, but they are very well made. My friend has a Tangfolio which is the Italian copy of the design and it is a fun pistol to shoot, though his is .45.

They are one of the best 9mms for the money.

Yeah, I got enough for the SKS without selling the M44 :banana
I've just been meaning to get my dad back into shooting..but we gotta do it on the down-low so mom doesn't find out :laughing She's had enough of guns and war, but I'm just getting started :| So yeah, we want something that won't break the bank just to put holes in paper, and 9mm ammo is cheap.
 
I know it's not the specific answer you're looking for, but check out the extensive line of .22 semi-auto handguns out there. Almost all of them cost less than $400, will be cheaper to shoot than a 9mm, and you'll never be bored with it.

But yeah, the CZ is a good gun.
