Yes. People keep asking this. It was one of the first things we learned in our endeavor - assault weapons are apparently some of the most expensive weapons you can buy. The really strange thing is we have also discovered that assault weapons use lower powered cartridges, and actually are a lot less powerful than a shotgun or a hunting rifle! We would like to obtain a dreaded 50 caliber assault weapon that our fellow anti-gun groups keep pushing to ban, but were aghast to discover that these cost $8,000 and weigh 40 pounds!



Ok, they're less powerful, but they shoot really fast?
No. We actually watched someone fire one just like ours at the range when we bought it. It does not go bangbangbang and spray bullets like in the movies!! It only fires one shot with each pull of the trigger. Apparently this is also just like a more powerful semi-automatic hunting rifle. We have no doubt that this does not effect the lethality of these weapons, though, because what hunting rifle has a bayonet lug!



Have you seen any violence yet?
No, but we have no doubt that we will soon. We have only been watching this for a little over a month. We started this web site so that others could help us watch - we do not know what happens when we go home at night!

These people may collect guns, like to target shoot, combat shoot, plink, trade, be amateur military historians, be an advocate of self defense, etc, etc..

Many, many thousands of voters don't give a damn about hunting, but love guns. Right away when they see Kerry hauling a goose out of the woods in his new camouflage, they think, "Fake bull????, he's trying to look like one of us, but he's far from it". Show me a Democrat that likes shooting and talking about his H&K MP5 and has a Senate record to back it up, and I'll show you a Democrat that will cut DEEPLY into the Republican ranks during an election.

When northeastern and California liberals can stop attempting to read rural voter's minds, then the issue can be resolved.

Here's the key to winning the white house. Shut the Hell up about guns PERIOD. The party should disown the issue nationally and thoroughly discourage anyone with the ????ty record,(like Kerry's), on guns from winning the nomination. Shut the Hell up about "reasonable restrictions". That may sound moderate to some. Most rural people here that and say "bye-bye".

Drop gun control totally and if you don't agree, then at least STFU about it, or I can promise you that we will lose more and more of the elections. Every election, more and more gun owners realize that Democrats= gun control. The more that realize that, we will NEVER get those people back.

Take it from me, I have saw this happening over the last 20 years and I have been screaming for someone to listen, but all the while, liberal people keep thinking that they mean well by moderating their tone with "reasonable restrictions". It's a loser folks, trust me

Hey, it never changes. When I was in college it was a bash Reagan/ Bush Sr. fest the whole time. I should have asked for a refund on my tuition for all the class time wasted. Don't even get me started on those CALPIRG assholes.:mad
 
The "Intercultural Communications" class I took last semester evolved into a "Bash the Whiteman and the White Majority Establishment" class, about how when non-whites move to the USA, they are completely and utterly stunned to discover how many white people live here, and so few of whatever they are.

I mean come on, when I go to Mexico, I don't fall off my chair with surprise at how many Mexicans live there. If I went to Hong Kong, I am pretty damn sure I'd see an incredible number of Chinese, and precious few white people. I would not expect to find whites in all levels of government and corporations.

But then, I have half a brain. Why do they expect to move out of their homeland, and expect a foreign nation to be dominated by people who look like them? And why do they cry so much when that is not the case??!?

Aaarg, nevermind, let's talk guns. For Christmas, I'm getting my brother ~50 moon clips for his SP101. Got myself a holster for my Tomcat, and more ammo! :thumbup
